Far-Right Leader: Riots Only the Start (France - Le Pen)

PARIS

French far-right leader Jean-Marie Le Pen claimed Wednesday his National Front party has been "submerged" with prospective members and supportive e-mail since rioting erupted in heavily immigrant communities near Paris.

In an interview with The Associated Press, Le Pen described the recent violence as "just the start" of conflicts caused by "massive immigration from countries of the Third World that is threatening not just France but the whole continent."

Le Pen said people with immigrant backgrounds who commit crimes should be stripped of their French nationality and sent "back to their country of origin."

Reminded that the vast majority of youths taking part in the arson and rioting are French, born in France to immigrant parents, he said: "What does that mean? Are they French because they have a French identity card?"

French nationality should be given only to those who ask for it and "who are worthy of it," he said. "Those who got nationality automatically, who don't consider themselves French and who even say publicly that they consider France their enemy should not be treated as French."

Le Pen said he is convinced that what he described as a surge in support for his "zero immigration" platform would translate into votes at the ballot box for his National Front party.

French voters "are saying to themselves 'Le Pen was right. We were told that Le Pen is an extremist because he said that immigration problems would lead to disorder. The facts have shown that he was right,'" he said.

"We are receiving thousands of new members, tens of thousands of e- mails. All of our offices are submerged, we don't know how to respond because we don't have the staff to reply to the wave of people who, 95 percent of them, salute and approve our positions," he added.

Le Pen gave no specifics on the number of new members, but the party's top official for new memberships said the figure was closer to 1,000 and that they were requests to join.

Le Pen stunned many in France and shocked Europe by making it through to the second round of the last presidential elections in 2002. But he was soundly defeated in a runoff against President Jacques Chirac.

Le Pen said he is "more than ever" determined to run again in 2007.

"If there were presidential elections now, my chances would be increased tenfold," he said.

>>>>And for the record, le Pen is very Anti-American

le Pen is anti-everyone who isn't French. He is a classic 1930's isolationist.

"LePen is a mix of Pat Buchannan and Lyndon LaRouche."

I think that's just about a perfect description.

Le Pen has been consistently right about the biggest issue facing Europe, its continued existence. Compared to this, all the other controversies about him manufactured by the French Communists and other leftists are quite unimportant.

France: The Perfect Socialist / Islamofascist Storm!

I thought I'd have to wait another 20 years for the melt-down.

I thought I would add more info from the Wikipedia bio you quoted from. Le Penn is a controversial figure, but there are political reasons whuy his enemies try to paint him as a Nazi sympathizer, anti-semite, etc. I would like to see the context of those remarks.

"On December 5, 1997, during a public meeting with ex-Waffen SS Franz Schönhuber in Munich, he reiterated that "the gas chambers constituted a detail in the history of the Second World War." He was sentenced on December 26 by the Large Claim Courts of Nanterre for this affirmation."

Le Pen is somewhat correct that the gas chambers were not the central issue in WWII, just a horrible detail. Over 60 million lost their lives in WWII. The Nazis and Japanese were bent on world domination. They tried to exterminate all kinds of groups and peoples.

FYI: President Reagan placed flowers at a cemetery, which had some Waffen SS interred. It was at Bitburg. I was there. The President received a bum rap for this because the MSM distorted the event. Nevermind that US Commanders of our air base at Bitburg had participated in this annual ceremony for well over a decade or that there is a distinction between the Waffen SS and the SS per se. Or that the Mayor of Bitburg's daughter was married to an American serviceman.

Le Pen has been 1000% accurate in predicting this for 20 years:

Immigration from France to Israel is at its peak. For several years their have been terror attacks on Jewish schools, synagogues, shops, individuals.

Who is perpetrating those attacks? You seem to assert that it is the non-Muslim French Right.

"Most attacks come from young disaffected Muslims, mainly of north African origin, who live side by side with the more established Jewish communities in the suburbs."

France Jewish stance hailed as attacks fall

"In recent years there have been bomb attacks against a number of synagogues and Jewish schools in France. Jewish tombs have also been desecrated. Mr Sharon acknowledged that the Paris government had made efforts to tackle the problem. He added that France faced a new kind of anti-Semitism based on anti-Israeli feelings and propaganda.

He pointed out that France had a large Muslim community estimated at less than 10% of population, or about five million

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has urged all French Jews to move to Israel immediately to escape anti-Semitism.

I believe there will be a growing right wing reaction to the riots.I do not understand why France would allow any immigration especially since the unemployment rate is so high. They obviously do not have jobs for these people so why are they letting them in in the first place.I hope this will awaken the Europeans to the danger of immigration that does not have as its goal assimilation i.e. a program to reculturize the new arrivals. Islam is also a serious barrier to any form of social integration.

Assuming all you believe is true, how does Le Pen's solution work? It's Hitler-2005.

I have no idea what "solution" you are talking about. To equate Le Pen with Hitler is to defile those who died at the hands of this monster and to minimize what was done. You must subscribe to the Dick Durbin School of Hyperbole. After a while the Nazi/Hitler analogy loses its meaning. It is used to describe everything and everyone.

Oh come now. So Le Pen is going to set up gas chambers and concentration camps for the Jews and the Muslims? Is Tom Tancredo next on your list of Hitler clones?

The rioters in France are now calling it the "93 Intifada". They are calling it an Intifada themselves. They were saying "we are doing Baghdad on the Seine". Take it from them themselves where their minds are at.

Of course the French whites have been enormously hypocritical over the past 4 if not 40 years...talking about socialism and treating their own minorities so badly.

Agreed. It is not just the French, but most of Europe has been less than accommodating in their acceptance of non-European immigrants.

>>>>>>>under Le Pen, when it's your turn, mon ami, bonne chance.

Le Pen isn't coming for anyone, except for immigrants who should never have been allowed into France in the first instance. Le Pen is the only French politician who has stood forthrightly for the survival of the French nation and, perhaps not coincidentally, is one of the few who is pro-life and who was an outspoken anti-Communist. (The French Communists have, in turn, slandered him for years).

It is a symptom of the sickness that besets the West that, instead of focusing on the vital issues Le Pen raises, leftists in the media and elsewhere want to obsess over a few quotes, so that, I suppose, when Notre Dame has been turned into a mosque and France is no more, the survivors can say to each other, "Well, at least we never voted for that scoundrel Le Pen."

Immigration is only half the problem here and Le Pen, as usual, is half right.

The other side of the coin is that the Muslims have entered a country which has joyfully jettisoned its Christian (Catholic) heritage, which has no spiritual backbone, where secularism is the new god and which is killing its own young through abortion. In summary, the French have provided fertile conditions for this mess and are at least partly responsible for it.

A bellicose, fervent and aggresive minority has been placed amongst an apostate, confused, godless and weak majority. And the majority currently have no answer. None whatsoever.
