When, seven months ago, I finished writing my book, "The West's Last Chance: Will We Win the Clash of Civilizations?" (Regnery Publishing, Washington, D.C., Sept.11, 2005), London had not been attacked by Islamist terrorists, the Tate Museum in London had not removed an art exhibit because it offended radical Muslim sensitivities, and France had not yet experienced the explosion of violence from elements of its Muslim population in its "no-go zone" communities.

BUT WHATEVER WE DO ... LET'S NOT TELL FOLKS WHO'S BEHIND ALL THIS
It was the 11th night of rioting and attacks in and around Paris last night. Turn on almost any broadcast or cable newscast and you'll hear all about it. Thousands of busses and cars have been burned. Police are being shot at. Paramedics are being attacked. By who? By "youths." That's pretty much it. All of this trouble is being caused by "youths." Now that we've reached the 11th night of this violence, you will hear the occasional newscaster actually say the "M" word. Every once in a while ... but very sparingly ... someone will breach the walls of political correctness and actually let you know that these "youths" are Muslims. French police have discovered a bomb-making factory in Paris. These rioters are chanting "It's Baghdad here." France, the leader of the Axis of Weasels, is under attack. Paris, home to those who condemned America for removing Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq, is under siege -- by Muslim jihadists -- by the very people France tried so hard to protect and appease.
It's not just France. These wonderful peace-loving Muslims are attacking cruise ships off the African coast. Oh .. you didn't know they were Muslims? What a surprise! We heard all weekend long that "pirates" attacked a cruise ship chock full of Americans off the coast of Somalia last week. Funny how the media didn't identify Somalia as a Muslim stronghold, and report that the so-called pirates were almost certainly Muslims. Then we have the Muslims who cut the heads off three Christian school girls in Indonesia within the last few weeks.
France, in case you didn't know, is home to Europe's largest Muslim community. Sixty million French, and about 10% of them are Muslims. For the past five years these Muslims in France have been confining their attacks to synagogues, Jewish schools and other symbols of Judaism. Officials didn't seem to get all that worked up over the attacks as long as Jews and Jewish institutions were the target. Now the attacks have spread beyond Jewish targets. How many cities are under attack in France now? Sixty?
It's not just France. Mark Steyn writes in the Chicago Sun-Times that in Brussels Belgian police officers are advised not to be seen drinking coffee in public during Ramadan. In some Swedish cities ambulance drivers will not go into Muslim areas without police escorts.
This isn't the first time that France has been under attack by Muslims. It happened before. It happened in 732. The French (amazingly) turned them back. If they hadn't, the entire history of the Western world might be very much different today. If you want the details, Read Steyn's column..
America too. Since September 11th the list of Muslims arrested in America for plotting terrorist activities is much longer than 99% of Americans realize.
Do you see what's happening here? Radical Islamists are emboldened. They're encouraged. They're attacking France right now and Weasel-in-Chief Jacques Chirac is talking about a "spirit of dialogue and respect." Respect? Respect hell! These Islamic radicals are determined to remake Europe to their liking, an Islamic state. They're encouraged. How could they not be? Every time they cut off some more heads from the torsos of Christian school girls, every time they shoot a child in the back, every time they attack a nursery in Paris, or kill a school teacher in Baghdad; every time the step up their violence against the West the leaders of the countries they hate start talking about the spirit of dialogue and respect. In Paris officials are already talking about more money, more jobs, more programs, more handouts to appease the rampaging Muslims.
In America? We can't even manage to get a common sense immigration policy that would severely restrict (if not eliminate) any and all immigration and visitors from Islamic countries. They've openly expressed their hatred of us, and their desire to see as many of us dead as possible ... and we do next-to-nothing to keep them out of our country. Profiling? Good God no! We can't profile. We can't treat anyone of Middle Eastern appearance at an airport security checkpoint any different than we would treat an 89-year-old woman in a wheelchair. Multiculturalism? We have to keep that fraud alive too! We can't even suggest that the Judeo-Christian culture of America is in any way superior to the culture of violence that permeates the Muslim countries of the Middle East and the Pacific Rim.
At some point we're going to realize that we're slap in the middle of World War IV here, the war against the Islamic Jihad. Perhaps we will come to that realization before winning that battle will be too bloody to imagine.

I just had a similar conversation with a friend at breakfast about an hour ago. He thought the French problems were caused by poverty. I tried to explain it is a religous war and not about poverty.
The so- called radical Muslims are doing what God (Allah) wants done. There was no poverty involved in the lives of the plane hijackers on 9-11. Osama bin Laden and many of the so-called extremists came from wealthy backgrounds.
To me it's not much more difficult to understand than this. If you believe in God (Allah)you do what HE wants done. If you decide the pleasures and wealth of this world mean more to you than folowing God's will, as explained in the Koran, you are going to hell.
If you want eternal paradise, you follow the religion to the letter. Just like the so- called Muslim extremists.

....it follows the thinking that goes 'When they came for the Jews, I wasn't Jewish so I did nothing"
I am not Jewish but I did know and others should know..One day these monsters will get what is coming to them..and I hope I am around to laugh in their ugly face..I know what you mean though..Look at Hitler and what he did before anyone did a thing about it..
Immigration from France to Israel is at its peak. France has lost countless skilled professionals, business people, artists, musicians, investors and the list goes on. Still, the Jews remain at the top of their "undesirable" list. Their loss. Let them reap what they've sown.
And they will continue losing these types of people not only in France but all over the world..
.These kids are the community leaders of the future, so they are learning fast about how to get their way. A day will come when they will want everything Christian, European and Western banned. Hah! And the French were so damned concerned about the Americans ruining their culture.
American culture is more akin to arts and music. The 'French Youth" culture is in the realm of bacteria.
It may be tempting to laugh at the French, at least in the short run. But we shouldn't do it for too long. The more demoralized they get, the stronger the Muslims get.
This is one thing that allowed the Muslims to prevail and win Constantinople...the West wasn't united against them.
The French are famous for bacteria, hence "petri dish". Pasteur and Lavoisier were the first experts in bacteria. The curette is a surgical instrument invented by the French to scrape infection out of wounds. Yeast is universal used by the French in their bread, cheese and wine. As for microbes France is the arm pit of the world. France is culture alright.

When I see the way France responded there is no doubt they will go down eventually to the Muslims.
. When a guy like Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy is considered a hard liner there is no hope. Sarkozy was an appeaser before the riots, and wanted to give them affirmative action and have non - citizens voting in elections, if they were in the country for a certain period of time.
Sarkozy acutely thinks they can assimilate the Muslims into the French decadent infidel lifestyle. What a dreamer. (I think I'll move my Muslim family to France and adapt to their infidel culture, and lifestyle.) And Sarkozy is considered a tough guy on Muslims.
It's just a matter of time for France to topple. It will happen in 40 years legally, with the birth demographics; but might speed up to 15 years through intimidation.

The liberals and th rest of the world is about to see how this really works. The Muslims my come out and work and associate with French infidel society in order to get the feel of the infrastructure, but after hours they will be back in the mosques and conclaves and live by their regimented lifestyle. As their political power develops thew will want every thing Western, European, Jewish, and anything else they don't like banned. They will provide violence to push their will. If I'm lying I'm dying.
There is no clash of civilizations because Islam is too weak to confront the West. There is only genocide being committed against the peoples of the West by their renegade elites, starting with those who run the medias. The problem isn't radical Islam, the problem is that Muslims are in Europe at all, and that problem is not a result of militant Islam it is the result of the multicultural, multiracial, internationalist ideology of the dominant left. Blankley understands that but he also knows that if he says it he will be blacklisted.

The Germans once had a "solution" to what [they or their Nazi leaders] perceived as a parasite population living in their midst.
Nevertheless, as horrible as it may be to predict, following the bootsteps of the Germans may be the only solution for the native French other than dhimmitude. They have waited to long.
If they wish to preserve their culture - and perhaps their _lives_ - they may have no other choice. Whether they will make that choice is unclear.
