"warner is leaving office more popular than ever"

I just don't understand this.
He did nothing. N.O.T.H.I.N.G.

why?

Not like VA always goes Conservative for Governor. But, I don't get these positives for Warner. He signs a historic tax increase and announces a surplus 3 days later. (or so I read in another post).

KAINE it is ... oh well, at least it isn't 2006 yet. We will turn it around, these things come and go in cycles.

I think we have a better chance in NJ with results coming in later tonight. Kilgore was slipping in the polls in the final days, while Doug Forrester had lots of momentum... the night isn't over yet, but I think it is fair to say we are losing Virginia

I think we can all say it's over. And the RNC and DNC aren't the only ones listening. A whole lotta folks way down south are getting the message that Virginia is now fully open:

Hola, illegales! Come here illegally, don't pay taxes, send your kids to VA schools, Pre-K through college. Yee haw. Thank you, Volvo-driving asshats.

Warner is a Corporatist ~ and therefore will fit well within the new Democratic model as laid down by George Soros.

BTW, the media kept describing this fascist as "popular". Actually, he's not "popular" at all. What happened was he tried to lay a new tax on us right at the time the recession started, and that left him unable to go with new initiatives for the rest of his term. In short, he did nothing at all and thereby avoided offending everybody all the time.

Eary on I responded to a Kilgore fundraising request with a simple e-mail requesting his stance on school choice. I got back a Clintonesque response, that when you unpacked it, seemed to suggest that he would be for it, in failing school districts, but only until the public school met minimum standards. His staffer then went on to describe some Byzantine plan to pay public school teachers more, that made my eyes glaze over. I sent in a few bucks, but I just never got a warm and fuzzy that Kilgore would govern as a conservative.

Kilgore is losing Fairfax by 23%, Bush lost it by 8%, which is 7% more than Kaine needs to close the 8% statewide gap. In Virginia Beach, it is about even, and Bush carried by 19%.I haven't seen anyplace where the swing to Kaine is less than 8%, although there probably are some, without much population I suspect. You get the picture. The race is over.

Potts decided to reveale his backside to the people of Winchester who elected him. His name is mud there now.

Actually, Jim Moran, besides being a wifebeating alcoholic whoremonger is an Islamo-fascist. The man is a danger to the republic.

He scares the hell out of people around here!

No one knows how he got re-elected the last time.

I held my nose and voted for Kilgore, just to keep Kaine out, but I, too, had a big problem with his blather on schools. IMO, the problem in Northern Virginia is that the schools have TOO MUCH money. They are like lottery winners who don't know what to do with the windfall, so they spend wildly and frivolously and it ends up hurting them.

I don't know about the rest of the state, maybe more money in the rural schools would help.

Tighter than it was... I am pulling a Kerry-Gore and I recant all negative statements I have made about this race long gone. However, it's ticking me off that it would be within a few thousand votes if Potts were out of the race

All he had to do was run as a conservative. It is Virginia after all. Even the Democrats run as conservatives for crying out loud. Kilgore got some bad advice from somewhere.
