Northern Virginia is the "inside the beltway crowd." Probably 50% or more of the Washington Post staff and 35% or more Federal employees live in Northern Virginia. It doesn't reflect the rest of the state one iota.

It is just interesting to watch the data change as events change. Gives you a sense of how a low volume, not yet mature, market reacts to events. Someone bought Kilgore at 40 like half an hour ago.

This race has been over for a half an hour now.

Earl won Chesterfield county by 15 percent and lost to Warner by 4 percent.

Kilgore won by 8 percent.

Kaine won and unless republicans stop beating eachother up instead of uniting we will get our asses kicked across the board.

Kilgore was strongly against illegals. But he ran the death penalty ad against kaine and republicans ran from him. Do you think the dems are going to be running from Corzine because of his campaign. Dems are more united right now than Republicans. There are too many republicans looking to send a message but in the meantime we get a liberal instead of a good conservative. Kick out the rino's don't punish good conservatives.

Just checked the VA results website. Loudoun County has not reported 1 vote yet. That is 145,000 registered voters in a big Republican County. Fairfax has 60 % reported. There is hope.

It would help if someone familiar with the state could comment on the early reporting precincts...they could all be Democrat areas for all we know.

I'd like to know where the reporting isn't coming from. Does Virginia have a history of reporting certain precints last until they know how many votes they need to win?

Good news bad news. 60% Of Fairfax is reporting. Way ahead of 39% so far. Bad news is turnout there seems to be reasonably high.

Will a Kaine win in VA be enough to cause Warner to beat Hillary for the 08 Dem nomination???

A Kaine win hurts Mrs. Clinton.

We just can't face up to the fact that the lefties are gaining ground on us.

So if the Dems retain their governorships in 2 states they are gaining ground?

The only silver lining I see to this is that Kaine is Gov Warner's pick, and Gov Warner is planning to run against Hillary. If a Democrat is going to win, I'd pick Warner over Hillary any day of the year. I heard that if Kaine wins, it will be bad news for Hillary - Gov Warner becomes a stronger opponent. This is just speculation from Fox News' pundits, but it's interesting.

Doesn't look good for Kilgore.

Looks like there's a good number of cross-party voters-the Lt. Governor's race has the Republican winning.

Although with half of the precients yet to report...things could still turn around.

Fairfax one of the biggest Dem counties. 60% Already reported. Kilgore losing 60 to 37 percent. Turnout seems to be high there unfortunately. Howevrer, Kilgore will catch up on some ground when the other counties come in. Loudon has yet to report. Not sure how that county goes.

Fairfax has 73% of the precincts in, while the state has 40%. That alone is not enough of course to close the gap. But it does suggest one should not call the race.
