The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) filed a brief with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in Chicago on Tuesday, November 8th, 2005, in Winkler v. Rumsfeld, a case involving the Boy Scouts of America. The brief was filed on behalf of the ACLJ as well as eighty-eight current members of the United States Congress.
For almost sixty years, the United States military has provided supplies and services in support of the Boy Scouts' National Scout Jamboree held every four years. The military has supported the Boy Scouts because of their commitment to patriotism, good citizenship, support for the military, physical fitness, self-reliance, and honor. The statute allowing the military to support Jamborees was challenged in federal court because the Boy Scouts allow Scouts to earn religious badges and require Scouts and their leaders to state a belief in God. A federal district court held that the Boy Scouts are a religious group and that the statute violated the Establishment Clause because it had the primary effect of advancing religion. The Department of Defense appealed this decision to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

That picture says it all. We're living in the end times.
Boy Scout ping and bump
later pingout.
Or All Criminals Love Us.
They need to be de-funded and de-fanged. And then a figurative stake put through the figurative heart. And then buried under some large boulders.
Eagle Scout bump...
Moral Absolutes Ping.
Just climb out of the hot pot for a minute, and imagine the 1960s. Or 50s. Or for those of you around my age, remember them. Now, can you picture the Boy Scouts being the arch enemy solely because they have a teeny tiny bit of religion? Because the use the word "God" on occasion? Because boy scouts have the choice of volunteering to have a badge with religious activities? (And, of course, the fact that the BSA wants to prevent access of the youth of America to homosexuals.)
Now, hop back into the pot. Not that bad, right?
Freepmail me if you want on/off this pinglist.

I enjoyed my time in the Scouts. Especially our troop outings to Fort McCoy (pre-9/11). While I'll not elaborate, what I will say is that specific outing always left a positive impression on every Scout that attended.
The very fact that the ACLU and the Liberal snakes have decided to wage war against the BSA--the very embodiment of traditional values, and an organization this good land needs. Not surprising though, given that since its inception, the ACLU has been hellbent on destroying America and forever damning that which is actually good to it.
The BSA is our best and biggest cause to help prevent moral and truth decay among our youth. We cannot afford to let them fail.
