John McCain: I Have Anger Issues
NewsMax ^ | 11/8/05

Sen. John McCain admitted Tuesday morning that he has anger management issues, confessing that it's a problem he's had to work on for many years.

"I constantly, throughout my career, have had to work on getting angry and frustrated and losing my temper," McCain told Fox News Channel's Brian Kilmeade, who was filling in on Tony Snow's radio show.

"I'm happy to say that I've managed almost always not succumb to that problem," the top 2008 presidential contender explained.

But McCain said his temper was particularly raw after he lost the GOP presidential nomination to President Bush five years ago.

"I was in a very bruising campaign and, as you know, politics is not beanbag," he told Kilmeade. "At first I was angry and thought I'd been unfairly treated and all that kind of stuff. I was feeling sorry for myself. You know, it's a lot of fun to feel sorry for yourself." "But after a couple weeks," said McCain, "I worked very hard not to look back in anger and not to hold a grudge."

"By the way, Americans don't like sore losers anyway," he reminded.

Trying to recall other instances where his temper had flared, McCain said:

"There's many others that - I'm sure my children could tell you [about] a large number of them better than I can. So you just keep working and you keep trying to emulate people you admire."

"I still have many failings," the Arizona maverick concluded

Would you elect someone president who thought himself Luke Skywalker attacking The Death Star. Would you want this man with his finger on the Nuclear Button?

I have a good friend, who was an A-6 pilot shot down in 69 and spent time with the Manchurian candidiate in the Hanoi Hilton and he is about as level headed a person as you will find. McCain is a RINO cretin. He would probably be this way with or without his time in the HH

Actually, inbetween bouts of wishing I had a punching bag with his portrait etched on it to take out MY anger listening to him on the radio yesterday, I noted McCain seems to be coming to understand there is significant resistance to him. He's now reaching out to Rudy to attempt to bring him onboard, saying he'd be ideal for an AG position. He also heavily touted polls suggesting he was a front runner, but not with the usual assurance he has in past. This on top of reports his fundraising isn't going well in sectors he's reliant on (moderate/Indy/Dem) I think it explains his need to assert he's still "Got it", by pushing this protect the terrorists bill.

"President McCain, Tony Blair says he won't be able to attend the summit on Terrorism next week."
"He won't?"
"No sir"
"He won't attend?"
"That's what he said."
"He's refusing??"
"Well, he has other commitment. King Charles is calling a meeting ..."
"He's REFUSING?? To attend MY -- SUMMIT -- MEETING??!!??"
"He'd like to, but ..."
"That's it! I've had it! Nuke London! Game over! They are toast!! I have HAD it with these limeys!!!"
"Oh, hang on Mr President, did I say Tony Blair couldn't attend? I'm sorry. I meant Chirac ..."

He's running all right.

But he'll NEVER get the Republican nomination and he knows it. Too many people like me don't trust him.

But he'll still run. Either on the same ticket with Hillary, or as an independent.

Personally, I have never had an anger problem. My baseball career prepared me very well for life's struggles.

Well, there was that one time I kicked dirt on my wife's shoes when we were having an argument in the front yard.

The "Angry Anti-American Party" ticket. AAA-P.

Or, the "Triple A" Party.

He was asked by Hannity (I think) whether Guiliani would make a great V.P. on the '08 ticket? McCain said no! Guiliani has other skills. Right question? Wouldn't McCain make a great V.P on a ticket with Colin Powell?

Way to go there with your Kerryist rhetoric, meandog: "The President needs to admit that he's made mistakes."

...please rent the move "A Night to Remember". See how a good man who was captain of the "Titanic" ignored iceberg perils of a North Atlantic crossing and took more than 1,450 passengers to their deaths; then look at the results of the gubernatorial race here in Virginia tomorrow in your morning paper and see if there are similarities in a state which Bush carried by almost 10 points.

I'd have a short fuse too if I had spent time in a POW camp.

The man has a well deserved case of PTSD, which alone should disqualify him for presidential service. This leaves the possibility of his 'Manchurian Candidacy' mute.

I don't think he will run as a Democrat at all. He'll run as a Republican. He'll pull in alot of independent and "on the wall" votes which will divide the Republican party in half. That is the problem if he runs. Don't underestimate him.

Huh? Who died and left him the frontrunner?
