A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

A Fantasy from the Left...(or they just won't let it go)
Kerry WON!!!!
It's been one year and the left STILL think the election was "stolen". This thread is dedicated to our friends on the left! Feel free to add your own favorite pictures from 2004!!! (and please be sure to click on the Strawberry Fields link!!!!...thanks Aquamarine!)

Strawberry Fields Forever

President Kerry?????

Let me take you down,
'cause I’m going to strawberry fields
Nothing is real and nothing to get hungabout.
Strawberry fields forever.

Living is easy with eyes closed,
misunderstanding all you see.
It’s getting hard to be someone but it all works out,
it doesn’t matter much to me.

Let me take you down,
'cause I’m going to strawberry fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hungabout.
Strawberry fields forever.

No one I think is in my tree,
I mean it must be high or low.
That is you can’t you know tune in but it’s all right,
that is I think it’s not too bad.

Let me take you down,
’cause I’m going to strawberry fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hungabout.
Strawberry fields forever.

Always, no sometimes, think it’s me,
but you know I know when it’s a dream.
I think I know I mean a ’yes’ but it’s all wrong,
that is I think I disagree.

Cause we brought you down....
Strawberry fields....you lost your power again.
This is so real....you lost your power once again
Strawberry fields your dreamin'.
Strawberry fields your dreamin'

I am stuck with schumer, clinton, pataxme, and a majority democrat controlled assembly.
After yesterday democrats will dominate the county legislature 12 to 3.

Sad, sad day for Erie county.
My results will be coming in in the next few days.

Who Then Is Beautiful?

Read:
Genesis 24:12-21

Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. —Proverbs 31:30

Bible In One Year: John 18-21

cover In her book Who Calls Me Beautiful? Regina Franklin observes that in 1951 Miss Sweden was 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighed 151 pounds. But Miss Sweden of 1983 was 2 inches taller and 45 pounds lighter. What qualifies as beauty for one generation does not seem to apply to the next.

In Genesis 24:16, we are told that Rebekah was "very beautiful to behold." But physical beauty was not the crucial point for Eliezer, the servant of Abraham, who was sent to find a wife for Isaac.

Eliezer's prayer gives us an important clue about the kind of beauty he sought for his master's son: "Let it be that the young woman to whom I say, 'Please let down your pitcher that I may drink,' and she says, 'Drink, and I will also give your camels a drink'—let her be the one" (v.14).

Common courtesy could have prompted Rebekah to provide drinking water for a stranger, but to water camels was a different matter entirely. Ten thirsty camels could drink up to 210 gallons. Rebekah clearly had a servant's heart.

The Bible tells us that Rebekah was beautiful, but it says much more about the beauty of her character. "Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised" (Proverbs 31:30). —Albert Lee

Think not alone of outward form;
Its beauty will depart;
But cultivate the Spirit's fruits
That grow within the heart. —D. De Haan

Nothing can dim the beauty that shines from within.

I have my fingers and toes crossed, Mayor. What kind of numbers came out to vote?

Don't know how you live with all those DUmmies in power. It's got to be depressing.

oh, my...the elections were a mixed bag weren't they. Will be hoping for good results for you Rus.. any preliminary numbers?

The RATS are happy today.. lots of good reads on the election.

Need to work hard to try to get my plants in.. we might get a frost tonight. The big thing here is WHERE TO PUT THE PLANTS. very crowded conditions!!!

Got the note from JH2.. sounds like a long time of getting back to normal for him, as well as others.

Looking forward to your "surprise" thread tomorrow Aqua..

later dear FRiends.

What has happened to John (JH2). I have missed his essays.

I was looking at the Buffalo newspaper front page from the link you gave us. Couldn't tell what happened with Rus. I didn't see his name...sounded like the DUmmies did too well there!

JH2 is in south Fla & was hit hard with Hurricane

Rus & Jules need to move to a red area where they wont be banging their heads against the wall. He could have lots of work, good weather & a political climate that is better for his service possibilities

Seems like NY is destined to have a situation like France in just encouraging bad, corrupt, evil things.

Oh, I didn't realize where he lived. Hope he gets things back together soon. That has to be so frustrating!

Yeah....I've invited Rus down here many times...one of these days he's going to take me up on it. He would never regret it. The political climate is soooooo different from what he is having to put up with! Mayor..Mrs.Mayor....come on down!!!!

I loved Texas.. miss it. Only neg for me is that I wasn't as fond of the gulf(and all the yukky globs of tar) as I was the atlantic ocean. I miss the ocean! Need to get to work trying to get some large tropicals inside. Might get frost tonight.

later

The DUmmies just keep up the belief that they can impeach the president and put Kerry in as president!

Hi, I wanted to ping everyone for an update.

The county Republicans got a severe B slapping yesterday, it does not suprise me in the least bit. We started a tax revolt and they did not jion in, instead they fought against us all over the county and they are now reaping the distrious benefits of it.

I will not get any numbers for a day or two because I was a write in. But there was big problems in polling areas, people were refused the ability to do a write in vote for me, I had to get ahold of my attorney and visited polling areas to read them the riot act.

Affidavits and complaint forms have and will be filed with the county board of elections. They sent out a rep to a couple areas due to radio calls on the air complaints naming places, one person was told "Rus had his chance in the promary, you can't vote for him" I about came unglued at that radio caller. I was on the phone in seconds and out to that area within the hour attorney in tow.

I will be filing a complaint reporting at least 5 counts of violations of NYS Elections law in the campaign against me. This is not over by a long shot, win or lose, (I really don't expect to win) I will be more energized to go after the corruption in the county and my district.

Things will get interesting the next couple days and the next couple of months as the national republicans get wind of the complete and total defeat of their candidates. The county is now controlled by the dems 12 to 3 They will take this as a mandate to raise our taxes. God help us.

I will keep you all up to date as things come in. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

Holy cow....you really had to deal with some dirty tricks up there, didn't you, Rus. Well, that just shows you that they were afraid of you, afraid that the people would like the message of a tax revolt. Can't believe they were told that they couldn't vote for you. That's just wrong! The republicans ran a rotten campaign and could have had a candidate (you) with a positive, new message but they gave in to their baser nature. You just keep after them....but if you're thoroughly fed up, come on down here! You'd love it!...except it's not very pretty right here. There are pretty--and conservative--parts though!

Please forgive me, Rus, for not reading all the replies before I posted to LUV W and you.
The results are devastating for you and all those who live in your section of New York, and I never would have injected humor had I read on first....

Arriving late on the thread after a really bad night, and thinking you would have no idea of the outcome for a few days, I did not see what you wrote here.

Wondering out loud, *perhaps it takes a tsunami of these proportions to WAKE UP THE VOTERS, as they struggle now to unsuccessfully swim to a safe shore*.....

At any rate, you and Jul remain in the prayers of many here, and all those who know you.

Things just stink up there in Buffalo, don't they Lady! The people seem to just be zombies, voting for the same tired old programs by the same sleazy pols! They need a good slapping to wake them up to the truth...and Rus sure tried his very best to give them the jolt that they needed. Hard to understand people who DON'T want to keep their own money! *shaking head*

I'm sure Rus will take what you said in the right spirit....it might make him smile, which would be a good thing right now.....
