Paris police fear rioters' heavy arms (French fear muslim guns and grenades)
THE WASHINGTON TIMES ^ | November 7, 2005 | Jennifer Joan Lee

PARIS -- Police officers, exhausted and dispirited after 11 nights of street battles, say their mainly young African and Arab adversaries have access to sophisticated weapons including grenades and could soon begin using them. A dozen officers were injured, two of them seriously, after being shot with hunting rifles fitted with lead pellets during rioting last night in the suburb of Grigny, south of Paris, police said. Jean-Christophe Carne, president of a police trade union, told The Washington Times before last night's outbreak that police officers were increasingly pessimistic that civic order would be restored anytime soon. "Most of these kids are being coached by professional petty criminals and gang leaders in the suburbs," said Mr. Carne, president of Action Police CFTC. "In the past, when we have cracked down on these criminals in their homes, we found drugs, grenades and heavy weapons such as guns. While they haven't started using these arms yet, there's also no reason to think they wouldn't."

I spoke to a French friend the other day; he told me that the majority of French are terrified of the Arabs/Muslims. They apparently fear them (for what reason I don't know) and are usually reluctant to go after them.

I'd like to propose the establishment of a new country just for Freepers. Our constitution will be simple:

1. Capitalism, without a hint of socialism.
2. A strong and merciless defense department.
3. We don't put up with ANY MUSLIM CRAP!!!
4. Fridays: hot fudge sundaes are half price.

I wonder how Johnny Depp is faring with the riots. Mr Depp moved to gay Pare'e'e to get away from the unrest in the US.

A dozen sniper teams scattered throughout the problem areas would quickly convince the survivors that it would be better to stay inside.

Maybe Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton can go over there to help the French see the errors of their way. The French MUST figure out the root causes as to why these utes are rioting.

Should we be calling it "Le Intifada"?

No, no, no! With all the French gun control laws and the fact that Islam is a religion of peace, the police in France have nothing to worry about.

That's absolutely right! And if he wants to, Chirac can see to it that yet another law hits the books quickly making it illegal for "african youth" to be in possession of weaponry of varying sorts, particularly grenades and rocket launchers I suppose. Not as if any of this is presently being imported into France via underground muslim supply lines or anything, no. But once Chirac gets that passsed, then the French special forces equivalent, .... , pardon me while I recompose myself, can go handout fliers in the "troubled neighborhoods" to make sure that everyone "gets the memo," literally.

That should take care of this so that the hostilities can be wrapped up by Christmas and not influence the French economy too badly between now and then.

after being shot with hunting rifles fitted with lead pellets

"hunting rifles fitted with lead pellets." Hmmmm. NPR (yeah, I know, another reliable news source) this morning reported that the poor misunderstood yoot were shooting pellet guns. Which means prob. .177 caliber, 12 to 15 ft.lbs. A minor injury unless the target is real unlucky.

One U.S. Marine could certainly handle this chore.

Honestly, I'm sure it wouldn't take but a squad. The problem is that France right now is worse than most parts of Iraq. Ironic, isn't it. Yet, the French are treating this as if it's a bunch of rebel trick-or-treaters having gotten tired of collecting candy now having turned towards soaping windows and smashing mailboxes.

The greatest French leader was a Corsican and their greatest warrior was a 16-year-old girl. Their national holiday is Bastille Day, July 14. In 1789, hundreds of them stole some guns and attacked an empty prison. To this day that hollow victory is their national holiday.

NOOOO!!! Say it isn't so. Usually the top levels of the Islamic movement are out there doing the "dirty work." You know, 4-year olds in the market places laden with enough TNT to take down the average American home, or women and young children strapped up with the same.

I suppose they didn't get their weapons at the local WalMart or French equivalent either.

France has disarmed it citizens so now they are forced to fight with whatever they can find. A lesson to all of you gun control nuts.

Actually, gun ownership in France (including handguns) isn't nearly as restricted as it is in many European countries. The French own guns, they just seem unwilling to use them.
