Mortman,
Did I say "all" homeschoolers? No.
My children attend public school. The schools are excellent.
You homeschool, that's great for you.
I'm talking about the homeschoolers that can't comprehend that there exist many excellent public school systems, or the fact that parents who have their children in public school did not "turn their kids over to the state to be raised." If you're not in that category, don't worry about it.
If you're one of the handful of homeschoolers that can't resist saying "I told you so" anytime something happens in a public school, I have no use for you. If you're one of the homeschoolers that can appreciate that not everyone is able or inclined to homeschool their children, then we can have a civil discussion.
Nice use of big words, but it doesn't change the fact that I'm neither being Belligerent nor using Ad Hominem attacks in supporting my claims. If you really want to impress me, reign in the combative fringe element within your homeschooling community.
>>>The officer should have shot the guy.
And again....just to be sure.
?
I rather think I would enjoy that post-event interview of a female teacher putting down a gun-wielding student. Middle-aged woman, long and prim dress, prescription glasses, hair in a ponytail, holding and lovingly stroking a smoking Ruger Super Blackhawk, talking to CBS...
"Well I told him that he was just going to have to go to detention but then he didn't listen, so I had to airhole him."
Sorry, Cal. Forgot the /sarcasm tag.
I have the same question as Velveeta above..why didnt the officer shoot him?
Look at what the liberals have done to France.
NIMBY.
Which would be struck down as unconstitutional, if offered by someone inside the schools.
Give it a rest.
I can think of about 4 or 5 districts in NY/NJ/PA that I would consider "excellent." Of course, that is still better than Florida where ALL public schools are mediocre at best and prison-like at worst.
Homeschooling is a great option if you have an educated parent. Every homeschooler I know has a professional background (or in two cases, are college professors, and liberals to boot!). Private schooling is usually the most viable option, due to individualized attention and the fact that they don't "dumb down" lessons to the lowest common denominator. Additionally, private schools are usually the best option for boys (especially and all-boys school), as the average school is run by and for women.
Of course, if you don't have time to homeschool, and you can't afford private school, push your kids to get into honors and advanced placement classes at your public school. That will at least keep them from being "dumbed down."
Wow, big school. Thanks for the pics.
He likely had an escape plan through those woods.
Hopefully there are choppers in the air and they have any escape route surrounded.
I see they have a dog, maybe it can sniff the perp out.
Ps: thanks for the pics.
That puppy looks like he'd use the perp as a chew toy!
YUM!
***I'm beginning to think that ANY post containing the word "school" now serves as grounds for holier-than-though homeschoolers to bash the rest of us that have our kids in public schools. ***
Someone take a leak in your Corn Flakes this morning?
Interesting perspective.
That dog needs his buddies on the scene so they can work as a pack to shred this nut.
