A war of values

The Prince of Wales was at the White House last week, hoping, the Daily Telegraph reported, "to convince President Bush of the merits of Islam . . . because he thinks the United States has been too intolerant of the religion since Sept. 11, 2001." This is a drum Prince Charles has been beating for years. In 1993, for example, he scolded those in the West who peddled "unthinking prejudices" about Muslim culture -- for example, "that sharia law of the Islamic world is cruel, barbaric, and unjust." Two months after 9/11, he was lambasting the American attitude toward Islam as "too confrontational."

More to Charles's liking, presumably, would be something more conciliatory and politically correct. Something like this:

"The killers who take the lives of innocent men, women, and children are followers of a violent ideology very different from the religion of Islam. These extremists distort the idea of jihad into a call for terrorist murder against anyone who does not share their radical vision. . . . Their strategy will fail. Many Muslim scholars have already publicly condemned terrorism, often citing chapter 5, verse 32 of the Koran, which states that killing an innocent human being is like killing all of humanity."

The Prince has been spending too much time in bed. He's completely ignorant of Islam's past and present.

There is simply NO EVIDENCE Islam is a peaceful religion. All the evidence points in exactly the opposite direction.

Where are the statesmen, public figures, celebrities, academics, politicians.... who are capable of seeing clearly? Where are those who are brave enough to take a stand for the survival of western civilization, for democracy and all of humanity? When will they stand against butchery, savagery, brutality and murdering in the name of Usama Bin Laden? When will those who live in the murky mist of their minds get some intellectual Windex to wipe away their smeary logic processes? Doesn't Charles realize that his prouncements provide NO insurance against the jihadists should they ever have an opportunity to blow up Buckingham Palace? This ridiculous lip-service to Islam is so puerile and transparent. If the collective western world, en masse, would stand against the jihadist threat and condemn it...we might make some progress in anihilating these extremists. Look at Chirac...deVillepan. For humanity's sake...someboy wake up these idiots.

Charles has said when (if) he becomes King he wants to become the defender not of the faith but of the "faiths".

I would have been quite happy to have a King Charles III one day - until Chuck started talking this islamodrivel. William can have the job.

And we welcomed him and his mistress turned wife with respect and dignity? Good thing Blair is there and has power.

Blair is in difficulty - His proposals for anti-terror law of 3 months detention without charge has been withdrawn. Even our Conservative party are against this! He is putting his political future on this issue and he might not make it!

Blair does stand by you and alongside you in the fight against terrorism and will not change his mind - but his support is shrinking all the time.
