Is there no one keeping a running total?

According to post #22, over 4,300 vehicles have been burned during the riots.

"... this doesn't bode well for any of us"

It does seem almost kharmic, but I suspect you're right.

"The DU dummies are hunkered down waiting for the one brilliant bulb"

Maybe Halliburton can get the contract to rebuild? That'd pop a few veins, lol.

"Send in the Dixie Chicks"

Better yet, they can call Johnny Depp.
He's near by.

On Drudge there is a report that 1295 cars were burned today. So we have reached and exceeded the "GRIM MILESTONE" of 1,000 cars now.

No insurance for acts of "riot or insurrection."

The economy of France will go into the dumper completely now.

I wonder how many cars there are in the whole city of Paris and how long it would take these dopes to seriously cause a problem with basic transportation.

Virtually all of these families losing cars are one-car households. I think th total count is over 3,300 autos now. There have been quite a few buildings burned also.

And I don't think this is going to end soon. There have been more cars burned each night. The burn and run tactic, with cell phone control is working well, the police have no effective response.

No wonder they like sub-campact cars. Cheaper to burn.

"Anyone notice that nobody on DU wants to talk about the French Intifada?"

They are discussing it. Did you see the posts suggesting Bush and the CIA are responsible for this? no joke

"I can't stand the French government, but this is depressing. The death of Western civilization in miniature."

And even while it's in its death throws you can see the media's culpability in the deterioration. They can't even bring themselves to print who is responsible for the riots; so far they call them 'rioters', or 'disaffected immigrants from North Africa". The word "muslim" seems to be a sacrosanct term too holy for public eyes to see.

The terror attack on the Australian Luxury Liner was perpetrated by "pirates", not muslim terrorists, even though these 'pirates' were using inflatable rafts for their 'pirate ships'.
