Thirty French police injured as rioters switched for the first time from arson to gunfire on 11th night of disorders sweeping France.
300 would be even better.
A curfew and shoot to kill orders are exaxctly what's needed! I have a sneaky suspicion that some of the powers that be WANT this to continue. I heard on a show on Fox...I think O'Reilly, but not sure, that they claimed that French Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy was too harsh and that is why this is still going on. Seems to me, this is a political move to embarrass Sarkozy
It was just a matter of time.
"Seems to me, this is a political move to embarrass Sarkozy"
It appears Msrs Chirac and de Villepin may be overplaying their hand, if that's the case. Maybe I'm just too American-brained, but Sarkozy is looking more and more like the only person in a position of authority in the entirety of France, to have the faintest clue.
Hey.... the assualt style shotgun legally is the deadliest home defense weapon you would want.
I have a Winchester 1300 Defender. It's bad to the bones....
Google 'assualt shotgun'. Very interesting!
You're not wrong...I have been pushing that view on the live thread and it's finally catching on.
Because they are mostly Muslim.
"Why not call in the Foreign Legion"
Disbanded long ago, I believe.
How can one be too harsh in this situation?
"Why not call in the Foreign Legion."
No. I'm wrong. They were not disbanded. I guess I was thinking about how they changed the old rule that anyone, even criminals, could get in, with no background check.
This is the French we are talking about, remember? LOL
D'Oh ... my bad! Trying to do too many things!
Live ammo, shoot to kill anyone holding a bottle of fluid and a match or a brick in toss mode, etc. The reason the rioters get away with this crap is the belief on the part of officials that to shoot a few of them will escalate the violence. The fact is, most rioters are playing a game and if confronted with life or death games lose their appeal. Only the hardcore who would do violence regardless of 'espoused' grievances will continue to riot and they need to be shot dead a.s.a.p.
Great minds think alike! LOL
" Am I crazy or does that make sense?"
Sounds like SOP for the Islamacists. Also typical FSB (KBG) tactics, probably where the Islamacists learned it from. Arafat bragged to the Romanian secret police about blowing up his own people to have the rival PLO faction branded as "ruthless" (Red Horizons, Pacepa.)
LOL. That's OK. Next time I'll just hit you upside the head. I know that sounds harsh, but...
To hear the words of the protesters, and indeed much of the reporting of the violence, one can sometimes get the impression that Mr Sarkozy actually created the unrest. It doesn't quite go as far as I did, but the tactic of the "Woe is me!" has been pinned on this Sarkozy guy. And, as should be expected, Jackie Chirac and Msr. de Vellipen haven't backed him up...even when the clarification about his comments came.
French society at a crossroads
It's bad news for France. All I have to say is, don't come running to us.
We certainly can't have it be the criminals fault, now can we? Too bad for Mr. Sarkozy that the enemedia couldn't find a way to blame it on President Bush. I guess Sarkozy is the "Bush" for France!
Because it upsets the hell out of them that their urbane, sophisticated, multicultural, fashionable, secular society, home of the best cuisine on the planet, and nothing like dreaded fat violent America, is coming apart at the friggin' seams!/ dripping sarcasm off
I have a solution to end this "civil unrest" right now:
issue the cops REAL guns and real bullets. Oh yeah, maybe letting ordinary citizens have firearms might help too. This serves the French right. (I actually don't know, maybe the cops do have guns and bullets, but obviously they're not using them if they do) If this happened in the US, it would be put down in about one day at most. Maybe two.
"maybe the cops do have guns and bullets,"
Hopefully the days of the "unarmed cop" are gone there, but I don't know.
