It is funny, isn't it? That the socialist mind naturally believes in the way things are defined by theory, rather than the way they actually are in reality.

"The Republic is quite determined, by definition, to be stronger than those who want to sow violence or fear," Chirac said"

The fear factor may explain why they burned down another school today.

...to make the children afraid? I'm still not sure of the significance of burning so many schools.

A group called "SOS Racism"(that's my best English translation) is saying that the French media is sensationizing the violence. I saw this on French TV news site LCI. Also, it appears 29 police were injured today at Gringy, south of Paris, the way I translate it.
Thanks for the update.

SOS Racism. Maybe that means, "Save Our Socialist Racism".

That would certainly apply to the leftist racism of the Democratic Party here in the US. In the US, the Democrats believe that African Americans and Hispanics are only permitted to have "proper political ideas" and that those who don't have the "proper ideas" are not fit to be members of their race.

But I don't know how things are in France. Maybe Socialist Racism has a somewhat different meaning in France.

They are burning lots of infrastructure but it is fascinating that they are deliberately avoiding murder

Give them time. The AK's are on their way but won't arrive till next weekend.

I wonder what the average french citizen {non muslim} is thinking about this entire situation? Are they so inclined to surrender that they are frustrated that there is no nation to surrender to? Is the compulsive need to surrender an inbred trait?

Well let's see now.. how many french governments have fallen due to just such anacrchy as is being witnessed? I think close to a dozen since the adoption of the American Constitution.

In earlier threads on this topic, a poster named Vicomte13 stated that the rules of rioting in France are that no one gets killed. If someone gets killed, then all bets are off.

With buckshot, the rioters are still playing within the rules. However, it is an escalation, IMHO.

Paging Vicomte13? Any comments?

Absolutely. Communism was a construct that might have sounded great "in theory," except for the fact that it did not take into account human nature.

Then again, maybe it did take it into account, because I have no doubt that the proponents of it always envisioned themselves as the elites who would call the shots on behalf of the downtrodden masses. Condescending patronism, kind of like the way Ted Kennedy has governed his whole Senatorial career.

Wonder what the response would be, both by world press and French authorities, if instead of black moooslims they were skinheads.

I do also wonder the makeup of the Armed Forces in France, how much of it worships Mecca?

15 percent. For more information check out French Question Loyalty of Moslem Troops.

Close enough to be injured by birdshot...

Close enough to see the shooter, and take 'em out.

Oh, yes, that's the mentality of an American, not a wussified frog.

Ted Kennedy must feel cheated by history. If only he could have had the power of Stalin. Ah, now there would have been a great Socialist Paradise.

"Is the compulsive need to surrender an inbred trait?"

I doubt that it is a trait, more likely the result of bad policies and leadership over a long period of time.

Maybe the "youths" don't want to go to school, so they are burning down their schools? I mean, that's not completely nonsensical.

As to why there hasn't been mass killings, that's probably because fires get more media coverage, or they don't like killing people, but choosing rather to destroy their lives. Also, killing people is much more serious than torching 50 cars. But you wonder, if they had killed 3,300 people, instead of cars, would the French have responded any differently? The French response has been just plain comical.

And it's very strange - I haven't seen a single report of car casualities tonight. At this time yesterday, it was already up to a reported 607...

How much worse has this got to get?

"Thus it happens in affairs of state, for when the evils that arise have been foreseen (which it is only given to a wise man to see), they can be quickly redressed, but when, through not having been foreseen, they have been permitted to grow in a way that every one can see them. there is no longer a remedy."

My internet reading indicates that torching cars is a matter of habit and custom among these people, being particularly indulged at New Years Eve. Of course, this was given as an argument why the present actions were not to be taken seriously!
