Just relax knee jerk freeper. The Republicans did not cave on anything. The Senate intelligence committee was very much in the process of releasing this phase 2 of the "Iraq war intelligence reports investigation" if not for the obstruction of the Democrats who know that the report totally destroy the notion that the White House distorted the intelligence reports or pressure anyone in the CIA to come up with intelligence reports that support the war. This will be the third investigative report to absolve the White House from any wrong doing in the Iraq intelligence information, and the Democrats do not like it at all. So what they did last week is that they pulled a stunt to make it look like they forced the intelligence committee to go with the phase 2 so they can lift the morals of their kooks base which was so destroyed by the CIA leak investigation and did not get at all what they want from Fitzgerald. Of course this stunt has also effected some of the knee jerk reactionary conservatives like you.

Why does some of the stuff posted on this thread make your BP go up, Cardinal4? I hope it's not the things FReepers think, but the things they're reporting the liars and screaming faces are saying.....

LOL! Not anyone on here! Smarmy Schumer, Drunken Teddy, and Joe, "hair plug" Biden make statements and comments that really anger me. Its just politics I know, but when they make some of the outlandish statements that they do on these morning shows when they think noone is listening, it emboldens our enemies. They see a slob like Kennedy commanding airtime and receiving deference week after week, and assume that all of us are weak. By our extremely biased and unfair media constantly enabling the liars like Schumer and Kennedy and Biden, with no balance or counter, Zarqawi, Kofi, and all of our enemies see weakness. And that raises my BP, because I cant do anything about it at the time.(Yes Kofi, he is as crooked as they come and knows only the Right in the US will hold him accountable, and that makes him dangerous)

Morgan you know exactly what the defeated liberal media had done in 2004 as an attempt to defeat President Bush. From Richard Clark, to the Iraq WMD, to 9/11 commission, to Abu Ghraib, to CIA leak non-story version 1(2003) and version 2(2004), to the number of soliders killed in Iraq, to the troops armors, to the Iraqi weapons storage in al Kaaka, to President Bush national guard story. For heaven sake, they even forged documents about the President national guard service in order to defeat him and they have created false and phony exit polls on election day to demoralize his base and make them stay home thinking that President Bush lost the election!!! They have used everything under the sun to attack him in 2004 thinking that they would surely defeat him in the elections, but they were utterly defeated. Despite all these unprecendent attacks on a sitting President by liberals and their media whores, President Bush was re-elected in 2004 with the largest number of votes ever cast for a President.

As I said before the defeated liberal media is powerful and I am not denying this but they are not as powerful as some of us think, else if they have such an immense power President Bush would have been defeated in 2004 and in fact the Democrats will always have control of the White House and the Congress. This is not happening.

IMO... that's THE picture of Reagan.

That picture of the Little Bighorn is 'special' too. One, it's mine... a compilation of 6 pics taken from one spot. And two, it's more than likely the spot where Custer fell.

We need to wonder what the heck Porter Goss has been finding out about the turncoats that he already fired or forced to leave and the ones that are still there they he is looking to permanently furlough.

Good point. If their is an internal investigation in the CIA about the possibiltiy of CIA bandits playing ugly politics against the White House then liberals and their media will up for a very bad surprise.

I would submit that if they are unhappy, then Bush must be more popular than they will admit..

From the Peggy Noonan Archive Her "analysis" of the Katerina Media hatchet job on Bush ...

  • President Bush. The political subtext: Does he understand that what has happened in our gulf is as important as what is happening in the other gulf? Does he know in his gut that the existence of looting, chaos and disease in a great American city, or cities, is a terrible blow that may have deep implications? It was bad luck that on the day it became clear a bad storm was a catastrophe he was giving a major Iraq speech, and bad planning that he arrived back at the White House cradling a yippy puppy. But his Rose Garden statement was solid. Yes, it was a laundry list, but the kind that that gives an impression of comprehensive government action. Having the cabinet there was good. His concern was obvious. But more was needed in terms of sending a U.S. military presence into New Orleans.

Making a personal attack in place of answering the question is intellectually indefensiable. I now you kiddes think that "makes your point" it does not. Here we are adults and expect adult behavior. Answer the question Please. No more ranting about mythical make belive, Answer the question.

I have no reason to play your game or even to attack your straw man. Your argument presupposes that the only valid objection to Patriot I & II could be if there are abuses. There have been some excesses. But that has nothing to do with my objections.

Given that reasoning, we would never have had the Bill Of Rights since the abuses they were designed to curtail had not yet been committed by an American government. And yet, the colonists (farmers, merchants, etc.) insisted on them before we finished the original Constitutional process.

Again, I'll say: "Your remarks indicate you don't even grasp the nature of the debate over renewal of Patriot and certain provisions."

Fortunately, the Founders and the ordinary citizens of that time were far more cynical about federal powers than you are. I still find it hard to believe that there are elements at FreeRepublic who are such blatantly supine statists. It's very different than the constitutionalists who once dominated the forum.

BTW, Johnnie, you're on the outside of this fight. Your Coleman isn't too useful, being a little too new to make an impact and your Dim is simply useless to all parties. OTOH, I have two senators that represent me quite well and who both understand that citizens of my state don't like to empower the feds to the extent that Patriot I did. And they hear from me on all the major issues. So you're not a player in any meaningful sense since your senators are almost guaranteed to cancel each other on Patriot. But my senators work together on the major issues. And they (and I) are on the same page. Neither they nor I give a hoot what the national Dim or GOP establishments thinks about it either.

In brief, on this issue it sucks to be you. When you find a way to make your reps move in your direction, let me know.

Yep, it is more of the same. I think the MSM believes that if they can get just 'one' scandal or story to stick, they regain their lost influence. They are praying for one more chance to reverse their demise, which they believe was caused by New Media.

I looked at your profile page, too. You said where 10-15 Sioux and Cheyenne stood against Custer's 220 troopers. Didn't you mean 10-15 thousand Sioux and Cheyenne???

Also, where in Mass are you at? I went to high school in that state. I was a NH native the rest of the time until I joined the USAF and got out of the NE forever.

I'm in NJ and Corslime doesn't even reply. Lousenberg does reply, but it's sometimes months later. I wish I had at least ONE (R) senator, as it is I'm totally un-represented in the senate. *sigh*

Latuenburg gets it. He's just a coward. Corzine...need I say more?

My advice for what little it's worth? Flee the state at the first opportunity!!

*** When reporters were called to testify, 20 media agencies (NYTimes, Wash.Post, NBC, ABC, CBS,Fox) all filed a brief to court "INSISTING" that NO CRIME was committed as Plame was outed years before.

The NYT did not sign on to the amicus brief. The "no crime committed" argument raised in that brief is not mentioned in the DC Circuit Court of Appeals opinion, and there is no evidence that the argument was considered by that court.

What is interesting is the media talking out of both sides of its collective mouth, publicly intimating and asserting that there has been an outing, but arguing in in court thatthere was no outing.
