That uranium stockpile was already tagged by the UN, though.Why is that relevant? Did Iraq have 500 tons of uranium or not?

Since it's from Gulf War I days, and it was under UN inspection, then it wasn't material that Saddam had gone out looking for since the cease fire and it wasn't being used in any WMD program. That would leave no justification for invasion, as it's not relevant to the UN Resolutions, and not like we didn't know it was there.

"Did Iraq have 500 tons of uranium or not?" The UN was too happy with their oil-for-food kickbacks to care, weren't they? Our planes were shot at over 700 times by Saddam as well during the ceasefire. 700 more reasons to end the ceasefire.
