Since it's from Gulf War I days, and it was under UN inspection, then it wasn't material that Saddam had gone out looking for since the cease fire and it wasn't being used in any WMD program. That would leave no justification for invasion, as it's not relevant to the UN Resolutions, and not like we didn't know it was there.
"That would leave no justification for invasion, as it's not relevant to the UN Resolutions, and not like we didn't know it was there."
Saddam had a mural of 9-11 on his wall. He called for public celebration over 9-11. He's in the Guiness Book of World Records for his use of WMDs. And, he had 500 tons of uranium. Maybe in some ivory tower legal world, that doesn't justify invasion. But in the real world, the NUKE concept was the one that the left worked hardest to discredit. "Where are the WMDs? Bush lied [about yellowcake]."
And now, based on what you say, everyone in the UN knew he was sitting on 500 tons. It sure wasn't known by a lot of democrat senators, it would appear.
