Thank God he hadn't tried as a politician yet. Diego Maradona, the soccer-star from Argentina berated George Bush - a brutal verbal foul to the president.
Mar del Plata - The world champion from 1986 travelled with a train full of protesters into the Argentinian seaside resort Mar del Plata. He was wearing changing t-shirts with inscriptions like "Murderer" and "Stop Bush". During the final happening Maradona announced under the jubilation of 40.000 spectators: "Lets get rid of Bush".
Before that the 45 year old used during a interview with the French news agency AFP even more dramatic words: "I am proud to drive with this train to protest against the human garbage that is represented by Bush. If we combine our power than we can show that we are say "No"."

Now they know why we helped the British in the Falklands war, and we'll do it again if their fifth rate tin horn military tries it again.

We are giving him just what he wants: attention. (It caught mine, darn it, and I've never even heard of this silly skunk.) He's just one of those has-beens who wants to re-up his 15 minutes. I've learned that the opposite of love is not hate, but indifference. Ignore him; he will go away and eventually die.

Only football is football. Anything else with sissies running around in short pants is something else. I don't know what it is but I do already know the score, 1,0

I've learned that the opposite of love is not hate, but indifference. Ignore him; he will go away and eventually die. I am afraid that this is not the case. People like Maradona are well known in the soccer hemisphere. They are multipliers in their countries and have great influence on the uneducated youth. Therefore this kind of dumb propaganda is dangerous and unpleasant to all of us. It is nessecary to be aware of it.

Could Jimmy Conners lead a protest of 10,000 here in the states?!The comparison is weak beyond description.
Maradona is a professional soccer icon. An international hero. Soccer is the South American pastime.

"Maradona is a professional soccer icon. An international hero."
Hero, eh? Well, I guess his international appeal didn't reach my area of fly-over country. In any case, I would bet that his knowledge of world economics is even weaker than my knowledge of South American soccer icons.
Such mental midgets should stick to doing ads for Gatorade.

Well....his image was on a box of Wheaties...don't know how you must have missed it! ;^)
