Los Angeles Television Station Apologizes to Schwarzenegger After Audience Mix-Up
AP ^ | 11/4/05

LOS ANGELES (AP) - A television station apologized to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger Friday after discovering that several Democratic activists were in its audience for a voter forum.

The forum at KNBC was intended to help voters learn more about Schwarzenegger's slate of initiatives on Tuesday's ballot.

But the Republican governor was peppered with questions with a partisan slant during Thursday's broadcast, and at one point a man in the audience tried to shout him down.

The audience of about 75 people was selected by a research company, which was directed to assemble a balanced group of voters from the Los Angeles area, said Robert Long, the station's news director.

But the station was unaware that several of those picked were actively involved in local Democratic politics, and that was never made clear in the broadcast, he said.

The company recruited the Ventura County voters from a list of "politically aware" citizens it had compiled, Long said. But survey forms submitted by prospective audience members gave no hint that some had partisan ties because they were not asked.

During the forum, the abundance of politically charged questions did not appear to unsettle the governor.

Schwarzenegger "did exactly what he should have done, which was politely listen to their not-so-polite questions and set the record straight," said Todd Harris, a spokesman for the governor's campaign.

"I can't figure out what they were pushing me to do."

There is gobs of psychology involved with "pushy polls!" Right off the bat, you are kinda pleased that someone is asking your "valuable" opinion in an actual poll of any kind... and then not only the leading nature of questions they already know the answers to, but the sequence of the questions.

Now, it's quite possible that had any of the three of us answered the first, second, or third question differently, we may have gotten a subsequent change in questions, down the line a ways... or even a hang-up!!!

I got one a few days ago that hung up on me after the answers to only t2o questions!!! (I just love writing the word two like that)

I find it interesting that the three of us are spread out from one end of the state, to the other!!! Not that it's important in any way...

Arnold has also been taking on the the Casino Tribes and trying to get them to pay some taxes. The Democrats set them up with sweetheart deals where no taxes are paid on the money they make off of Californians and other US citizens.

It's an outrage and a scam. But then all Indian gaming is.

"No, I wasn't thinking of you!!!"

Judass Priest! I certainly hope not!! This state is totally ungovernable!!!

If I'm not mistaken, at that February CAGOP CONvention, Gerald Parsky and Darrel Issa put their hats in the ring and the CONvention delegates proceeded to preclude any primary by voting to endorse the CAGOP Terminator right then and there, without waiting for any inconvenience to the CAGOP Terminator!!!

Therefore, I have proposed we support the car thief, because I can't stomach the Parsky Puke, and in an ironic way of thinking... we can pay Issa back for the personal million plus dollars he invested in getting the historic Recall up to enough momentum that the CAGOP Terminator felt justified in stealing the whole deal that grassroots conservatives got started with only McClintocks prior endorsement and subsequently, Issa's million!

I know danged well that Issa won't have a chance, but it galls me to the n'th degree that the CAGOP delegates were stampeded into effectively cancelling a primary that EVERYBODY knows the CAGOP Terminator could NEVER survive!!!

Now he's not gonna survive anyways and will quit like Jesse Ventura and the soon to be Terminated CAGOP isn't even going to have ANY candidate to take his place as McClintock is running for Lt Governor!!! So, I'd rather it be Issa that Pukey Parsky!!!

See what I mean???

Dang. I forgot my own rule (to read the fine print).

They only had satellite voting sites open until yesterday. If I want to vote early, I have to go to the county registrar. Beautiful downtown Norwalk--here I come! (tomorrow).

Democrats cheat.

I'd like to call attention to something that's happened in our town recently.

After 15 years of voting at the same location in all elections, we were notified our polling place had changed for this Tuesday.

Okay. But in today's mail we received a small, nondescript postcard saying our polling place has changed AGAIN and we are to go to a garage on a street I've never heard of.

If we hadn't gotten the mail today, or if the small postcard had been misplaced in the mail, we would have gone to the wrong polling place and had no idea where to vote.

I believe this is a democrat dirty trick, meant to curtail Republican turnout in order for the Governor's ballot initiatives to fail. I would bet voter registration rolls for the Teachers' Union haven't been messed with.

Has anyone else gotten a postcard in today's mail or had their polling place suddenly change?

I've been out of town and haven't been following too close. Rumor has it that NR was last seen celebrating winning a big jackpot at a microbrewery in Las Vegas, so we can't rely on him either! LOL.

---

Thanks but No Cigar much less a jackpot so far, and I have hit zero microbreweries, I can count the number of beers I have had so far on one finger. ;-P ... But I shall do what I can to turn things around later both tonight and tomorrow after the Nascar thread is wrapped up.-)

I am the designated driver for 5 females, anyone of them which could outcurse and outdrink me if provoked, (which I shall not do, if I can help it anyway) :-)

I got one earlier today, too.
I think that other person you mention might have got the same message. But I won't tell.
