Baltimore Maryland (FR)-- Tonight at 6pm est on WBAL TV 11 a story will be aired about the latest developments in the MD4BUSH affair, a story detailing how the Washington Post is coming under pressure to conduct a "NY Times" styled self investigation after the paper admitted that one of its reporters used a FreeRepublic.com member's personal password to view confidential email. The emails are at the center of a scandal that has cost the job of an adviser to MD's (R) Governor Robert Ehrlich.
One matter that will continue to be left out of the story, on direction of the stations management, will be details of the "outing" of Maryland (D) Sen Barbara Mikulski.
Questions about why a democrat operative working in conjunction with the Washington Post would "out" the Senator, a fellow democrat, seem to be a legitimate part of this continuing news story. A point that was agreed to in an interview with a WBAL TV reporter covering the case.
"We've had copies of all the emails and have been covering this story from the start, some were very coarse in their language and we had a meeting to go over just what would be reported" said the reporter for WBAL. "From the start, management put the Mikulski rumors out of bounds but decided the Omally cheating rumor was fair game", he stated.
When asked about the stations decision to ask Omally his reaction to the rumours, and not Mikulski he stated: "I don't get to make those decisions, people on a much higher pay scale do. I felt it was fair to cover it and even more so now with the revalations that MD4BUSH may be a democrat himself."
It was brought to the reporters attention that Joseph Steffen, the aide in question, had been interviewed on WBAL radio earlier in the day and had urged the public to "see what these democrat operatives are saying about their own-see what they said about Mikulski" The reporter replied, "Well it certainly seems like its time again to go to management and try to revisted this issue, especially now with the racial attacks on Lt. Governor Steele...it really plays into how dirty politics have been getting in the state."
If lesbianism becomes an issue for the Senator from Maryland in the MSM, it would soon be fair game as an issue with respect to the Senator from New York.
What the heck was said about Mikulski?
Good Post and good point deserving of its own thread.
And is this a "News Paper" admiting its own bais?
No, a TV station zinging a newspaper.
Yeppers...it seems like just another trap they were attempting.
Mikulski is a sacred cow in Md media and politics. With the retirement of Sarbanes this promises to change. If Steele can make inroads Mikulski may eventually have to fight to keep her seat.
MD has been a extremist liberal state long enough. Balt Co, the Eastern Shore, Southern MD, North and Western MD are fed up with the domination of the Beltway crowd.
If Steele is able to make inroads into the Balt black community that house of cards will begin to collapse.
Apparently, that she's been "hollerin' in the canyon".
If Mikulski is so darn liberal and progressive, who cares if she's gay? Does it make her more left? Doesn't this mean she can be honest now?
ROFL! Who'd a thunk Babs would find the closet a warm safe place....in Maryland?
I couldn't care less if Mikulski is gay: her liberal politics are enough for me to say she needs to be OUT of office.
If the "outing" were simply about human on human sex I think the Posties would have no problem with it ~
So it is more than simply homosexuality? Anyone gonna investigate possible crimes here?
I thought it was "yodeling in the canyon" hence, "canyon yodeler."
That's the point. It could very well be just a "bait" rumor to see if someone would bite and get caught spreading it.
Don't think most blacks "cotton to" homosexuality" Their alliance with the gay lobby is a marriage of convenience.
What does outed mean
Is she a CIA agent under cover
or is she
a carpet muncher under the covers
