But what's more dead when compared to the nice warm fuzzy the extreme left will feel?

This is all for show, as far as I can tell. State law forbids such a local ordinance.

They can't believe this. No one could be that deluded.

You are obviouly not a San Francisco resident.

But in Bayview Hunters Point, a neighborhood plagued with violence,

This sentence is incorrect.

Hunters Point is plagued with violent criminals, not "violence".

The writer makes it sound as if "violence" is some abstract reality that exists on its own, without any human involvement.

The writer is an idiot, or worse, a propagandist.

So let me understand this...

Guns are bad and dangerous and lead to death...

But this kind of behaviour...

...is safe, healthy, and does not lead to death of the body as well as the spirit?

I am so confused!

I need to find my way back thru the looking glass...this worlds is way too warped for me!

Shawn Richard, Brothers Against Guns: "Uzis or Mac 10s, stuff like that is being used on the streets of San Francisco that are only supposed to be used for the war. How are they getting in here? So I'm supportive of this ban on these guns."

I know! I know! We can just pass a law making illegal to kill other people and solve the whole problem!

What a pathetic idiot if he believes that making guns llegal in SF will stop CRIMINALS from using them.

But, then, if you are can be thrown in prison for a single shot .22, why not own a machine gun?

"Chris Daly, San Francisco supervisor: "If we can get handguns, some of the handguns out of the hands of some of the criminals, then we'll make a small dent in some of the homicides and that is the intent of this legislation." "

I'm sure this is the one law these criminals will obey.

I love this law, it will make L.A. a safe place to live when all the bad guys move to EPSF(easy pickin's, san francisco)!

Couldn't happen to a nicer place!

"But this isn't about fighting crime, is it?"

Exactly right! It is about fighting "icky" things.

She would be forced to give up her gun if Proposition H passes.

San Francisco needs Preparation H, not Proposition H.

"If we can get handguns, some of the handguns out of the hands of some of the criminals, then we'll make a small dent in some of the homicides and that is the intent of this legislation." Here is logical fallacy #1. The gun ban will not affect criminals because they by definition do not obey the laws. The criminals will be the only people with guns and they will be having a heyday. The City of San Francisco should be ready for the consequences held accountable for the results of this decision.

Ironic that I bought my most evil of firearms, an AR-10 in San Francisco in 1999. I had to send it out of state when Gray-Out Davis passed a mandatory registration law for "assault" weapons. I got it back when I left that pit and now live in Alaska where guns a part of the culture. Sodom on the bay never disappoints me.

I've not heard that the state preemption statute has been repealed. Only the Calif. state legislature can enact gun control legislation. But, with the lawlessness exhibited by city and county government, some poor soul will be arrested and/or fined under this ordinance and must seek justice in California courts--always a crap shoot.

They're ALREADY illegal in the state of California, you dumb twerp. So SF passes a further ban, big deal. It might as well be Double Secret Probation for all the good it'll do.
