An interview with David Frost in 1979, 75 days after the Hostage Crisis
How the liberals and Commies helped overthrow one of the greatest allies of the US in the mideast
It sounds like you've read Stephen Kinzer's All the Shah's Men. If not, it's a good read. I fully recommend it.
Papa Bush ran the CIA and was VP for eight years prior to sitting in the oval office for four. I suspect that we cannot begin to imagine the deals to which he was party. I am sure that US interests were paramount in the decision making process but the world at that level is the world at its dirtiest...nobody comes through clean (lone possible exception or at least the least sullied - RWR).
Thanks for the suggestion though, I will pick it up.
If you recall, Carter resisted the boycott until he realized that the country was so pissed with the USSR that he had no choice.
You've gotta love the freedom of information act... [FOIA] The free flow of information, even if it's late, is the cornerstone of democracy. I've read most of the source docs as well but it's nice when a good author builds quality context to capture the event. All the Shah's Men is a good example... glad your interested. Keep searching for the truth.
BTW, it's not F14's CIA, it's OUR CIA. The CIA has done and continues to do great work, but people rarely do FOIA requests to learn about why things are working so well. And contrary to assertions here, the Agency is non-partisan. It serves the POTUS who serves the American people who are from every corner of the planet. I wish them the best of luck and my deepest support to win, in partnership with other agencies, the GWOT.
In 7th grade (decades ago) I worked twice a week in a small local library. I got paid a Hershey bar and all the knowledge I could absorb. It instilled in me the habit of finding out about those things that interested me for myself.
LoL
Now, you as a democRAT have MEK in your side.
Good for you!
Btw, I still recommend this

What? The MEK ref to me was way out of line, but then again thats never concerned you before. What concerns me is that you think there are sides. Were all free here! So who's picking sides? This is just a friendly conversation about historical accuracy.
Oh wait a minute... that's right you're picking sides! You were the one that posted the Anti-Western garbage from the Islamic Republic News Agency propaganda earlier today. The Iranian regime is no friend of mine, but apparently they write for you
Sometimes I wonder if it would be easier to remain civil holding a conversation with you in person than it is reading your baseless accusations. But then I realize, Im civil and your not. Youre incapable of holding a rational conversation, which affirms the likelihood that whomever youd support politically for Iran would be unlikely of organizing a rational government. Remember, the Shahs was an irrational government
thats why your ilk was purged from your homeland. Assuming youre not a mole for the IRNA! If thats the case, your purge is long over due.
Yeah, right!
I am fed up with your defense of bunch of marxist terrorists!
F14 - fighting the brave fight from Melrose Avenue. Just don't ask for any facts, just insults.
Once again, I tell you!
No body cares about DemocRATs and MEKs here on FR
So dont waste your time. You wont get any thing here!
You are in the wrong place...
You are afraid, aren't you...a couple of us here have your number and all you can do is bluster.
Yes, I am afraid of RATs
They are dangerous... LMAO
This conversation, as usual, is not about the MEK but you keep bringing them up. Realize F14 that no matter how you try to shift the focus away from your own political and conversational shortcomings, the responsibility for posting lies belongs to you. You may think there are no consequences but be assured there are. First, your random accusations target FR taglines with real people behind them. This is no video game... Second, this is an open forum where your absurdities reflect negatively on everything your tagline professes to support, and all of the affiliations you make with your posts. Put plainly; you've soiled, not defended Iranian monarchy and you've positioned the Iranian regime's lies in a place where they can be checked against fact and easily confirmed false.
Monarchist or regimee, you are no tribute to either cause! And as for the MEK, in the past you've called the organization so many names, as if you were a child whos just learned to cuss, that I seriously doubt you understand any of their meanings. You come across as a very simple man! It's a damn shame you fancy yourself political. Simple men who champion irrational concepts are the bane of the democratic process. But as a "copy-paste" king, how much harm can you cause? Probably not much, but the next item you post from the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ill be sure to point out that you collude with Americas enemies who are, at a minimum, conspiring to kill Americans as we type.
I wonder why you keep defending Terrorist MEK here and there and get upset when I call them names
Btw, no more posts to me from u!
i have nothing to do with MEK sympathizers!
Over & Out
I don't defend the MEK nor do I get upset when you call them names. It doesnt upset me that you dont know what the names you apply to the MEK mean. I get upset when you accuse me of being MEK, defending MEK or being sympathetic to the MEK. I have only ever endeavored to discuss the MEK after I attended a congressional panel in Washington DC. You have been relentless ever since. After that, there have been several MEK events in Iraq of note and YOU POST IT, not me! You're a living advertisement for the MEK... but you do it to promote an altogether different agenda. It's as though you intend to stifle discussion about Iran. Given that youre an incompetent conversationalist, it may not be intentional, but in any case it's not good for your homeland.
As I said, I'm not sympathetic to the MEK but... 10-4 Good buddy, Over & Out. :)
Right you are, speedy. The US has lost the moral high ground and has no backbone or stomach for this kind of fight today. I am ashamed to see the powerful in Washington kow-towing to foreign governments and asking permission from the * UN * to do what should have been done years ago. If our government had not gone soft, over one million Kurdish men women and children would still be alive today and thousands more of our soldiers would still be here to defend those who want to be free. That includes the people of Iran whose voices are being drowned out by the loud throats in the mosques and silenced by torture, starvation, stoning and beheading.
