The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Threat Matrix: U.S. Terrorism
What's become of bin Laden since he gave us all the slip?
Full Story

Some think he is dead, others that he is hiding because he is scared of being killed.

Whatever the reason for the strange disappearance of Osama bin Laden, not seen alive since his last mocking video statement a year ago, he is no longer the face of the global "jihad" against the West.

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi { TM 25,TM 27 }, the Jordanian responsible for some of the worst atrocities in Iraq, has become the hero of the hour on militant Islamist websites.

Jer, that is some list of tanker crashes.

I now tell my family to not drive down the road next to a tanker, it is too dangerous.

It is not surprising that the FBI try so hard to find the stolen tankers.

Thank you for all of your work on the tanker lists.

Right, and I do also.

Who does she think she is kidding?

The liberals of course buy it, hook, line and sinker.

Now, I am sitting here smiling, as this gives me the perfect opening to introduce a new book on the market.

I heard the author twice last night and it sounds interesting, he has done his research, on the famous liberals of America and his aim was to see if they did in real life, as they want you to do.

There were several of great interest and I can imagine there are many that he has not talked about on radio.

Bohanon, gave him an interesting hour, it was a good interview.

Michael Moore is a complete fake, no, that was not a surprise.

The Kennedy's discovered that a trust in Fiji, of 300 to 500 million, cost them less than 1 % in taxes to the U.S.

None of the Soros money is stored in the U.S.

The Book, by Peter Switzer, is:

Rioting Spreads to Twenty Town Around Paris

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051103/ap_on_re_eu/france_rioting

AULNAY-SOUS-BOIS, France - Rampaging youths shot at police and firefighters Thursday after burning car dealerships and public buses and hurling rocks at commuter trains, as eight days of riots over poor conditions in Paris-area housing projects spread to 20 towns.

Youths ignored an appeal for calm from President Jacques Chirac, whose government worked feverishly to fend off a political crisis amid criticism that it has ignored problems in neighborhoods heavily populated by first- and second-generation North African and Muslim immigrants.

Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin called a string of emergency meetings with Cabinet ministers throughout the day. He told the Senate the government "will not give in" to violence in the troubled suburbs.

"Order and justice will be the final word in our country," Villepin said. "The return to calm and the restoration of public order are the priority — our absolute priority."

The riots started last Thursday after the electrocution deaths of two teenagers who ran from a soccer game and hid in a power station in the northeastern suburb of Clichy-sous-Bois after they saw police enter the area. Youths in the neighborhood said police chased the boys to their death.

French authorities have said that officers were investigating a suspected burglary and not pursuing the boys, a view backed up by an interim report by the national police inspectors office released Thursday.

Investigators said the boys — Mauritania-born Traore Bouna, 15, and Zyed Benna, 17, of Tunisia — knew of the dangers of hiding in an electric substation as they sought to evade police. The report also cites two witnesses saying they did not see the boys being chased. A third boy, Muttin Altun, 17, was badly burned.

Separate administrative and judicial investigations into the accidental deaths also were under way.

By Wednesday night, violence triggered by the deaths had spread to at least 20 Paris-region towns, said Jean-Francois Cordet, the top government official for the Seine-Saint-Denis region north of Paris where the violence has been concentrated. He said youths in the region fired four shots at riot police and firefighters but caused no injuries.

Nine people were injured in Seine-Saint-Denis and 315 cars burned across the Paris area, officials said. In the tough northeastern suburb of Aulnay-sous-Bois, youth gangs set fire to a Renault car dealership and burned at least a dozen cars, a supermarket and a local gymnasium.

Traffic was halted Thursday morning on a suburban commuter line linking Paris to Charles de Gaulle airport after stone-throwing rioters attacked two trains overnight at the Le Blanc-Mesnil station. They forced a conductor from one train and broke windows, the SNCF rail authority said. A passenger was lightly injured by broken glass.

The unrest has highlighted the division between France's big cities and their poor suburbs, with frustration simmering in the housing projects in areas marked by high unemployment, crime and poverty.

The violence also cast doubt on the success of France's model of seeking to integrate its large immigrant community — its Muslim population, at an estimated 5 million, is Western Europe's largest — by playing down differences between ethnic groups. Rather than feeling embraced as full and equal citizens, immigrants and their French-born children complain of police harassment and of being refused jobs, housing and opportunities.

Opposition groups accused the government of letting the situation spiral out of control, either by failing to act quickly enough or letting in too many immigrants over the years.

"We see that the situation in certain neighborhoods is not getting better at all but degenerating," Socialist Party President Jean-Marc Ayrault told LCI television, who said Chirac's conservatives "did not know how to take control."

Right-wing French lawmaker Philippe de Villiers, who has said he wants to "stop the Islamization of France," told RTL radio that the problem stemmed from the "failure of a policy of massive and uncontrolled immigration."

Minister of Social Cohesion Jean-Louis Borloo said the government had to react "firmly" but added that France must also acknowledge its failure to have dealt with anger simmering in poor suburbs for decades.

"We cannot hide the truth: that for 30 years we have not done enough," he told France-2 television.

There is this from the Telegraph, not a blog...but...:

"We're not dumb. Sarkozy has declared war on suburban youth," said Karim, 23. "Unless he apologises for the way he has treated us, then he can expect 40 nights of violence," he said.

Also, French blogs are calling for riots in 700 cities tonight. Only a matter of time until we see this happening in our cities.

700 cities? In France? I didn't know they had that many. That's too many for AQ to guard in the eventual surrender. But then again, that's never presented a problem if the Islamist sort in the past....at least since 588A.D.

It just seems like a lot of rock throwing and tire-slashing at this point. I don't think they're at a so-called flashpoint, just a growing simmer.

This is the equivalent of Archduke of Ferdinand getting assassinated and starting WWI. I don't believe these riots will go on much longer, but this is setting the table for some easy AQ recruiting. That's the real nightmare.

In the upper left corner, is a link to a report of race tensions in Birmingham, England this past (?) weekend, it may be that the call is out to all rioters to act up this week.

This report is one that should be read by all, it is a February 2005 report, on the G-8 plans made in Scotland for the July 2005 meeting, (remember the London bombing of trains and busses)......

There are names and ideas of what is expected.

The report is the same as what we are hearing in Argentina for this weeks meeting.......and the world is having a riot,
again, the communists and muslims are holding hands to kill us.

If they were this worried in Scotland, then I can imagine what is going on in Argentina this week and our President is indeed in danger.

These reports make me thankful that most Americans are armed.

Key word is most. I guess I'm prepared to write off the northeastern states to better prepare for the campaign of terror to move into a true killing ground in the southern and far western states. Those liberal northeasterners have truly weakened the gene pool in this country anyway.

As an aside, all the folks I've heard whining here in Miami-Dade as a result of Hurricane Wilma have been transplants from the north. It's been eleven days and my neighborhood STILL has no power. But we were ready. Enough food, water, first aid supplies (thanks AD!), gasoline for both vehicles AND the generator, heck it's just been a hot and sticky vacation. I tell these tenderfoot types that back in the days of OLD MIAM-UH the residents were long on the pioneer spirit and short on the nanny-state mentality currently displayed. Heck my father graduated from Miami High in 1924! Did they have Dopler Radar then? Heck no, durn hurricanes just hit without any warning at all. You just had to make do. Which is exactly what we're doing....making do. But we were prepared (THANKS AD!). We're still ready for any other emergency that might suddenly occur.

IMHO, this is much more than "rock throwing and tire slashing". It was reported that last night shots were fired at the police although no-one was injured...

There has been widespread damage to schools and stores, fires, torching of cars - over 69 reported in one night alone (the 6th night)... Several police stations have been targetted and at least one was briefly overrun.

The other day in an article at CNN a police union rep. stated that it was a "civil war" and requested military backup as his forces were ill-equipped and not trained to deal with the sort of violence they were dealing with.

I hope you are correct about the riots, but they are spreading quickly and I don't see how they are going to contain it quickly at this point...

You can find links to articles posted here at FR via Backhoe's "Is Paris Burning" Roundup thread.

Did you check for prior FR threads on the San Antonio fires?

I am sure we talked about them on the T.M., I think Indie was posting on them, maybe he lived there.

I hear a lot of apartment house fires in the western news, and there have been several "unknown cause" apt house fires
this year in the San Francisco area, there was one a week or so ago.

Padilla and his ilk, trained to start them.

Thank you for the extra work you do, I am glad you started sharing that work here with us.
