The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Threat Matrix: U.S. Terrorism
What's become of bin Laden since he gave us all the slip?
Full Story

Some think he is dead, others that he is hiding because he is scared of being killed.

Whatever the reason for the strange disappearance of Osama bin Laden, not seen alive since his last mocking video statement a year ago, he is no longer the face of the global "jihad" against the West.

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi { TM 25,TM 27 }, the Jordanian responsible for some of the worst atrocities in Iraq, has become the hero of the hour on militant Islamist websites.

Fears over mosque funding revive French church-state debate

PARIS -- A call for a change to a century-old French law to allow the state to fund new mosques has sent sparks flying in a society deeply attached to the separation of religion and state.

Concerned that a shortage of mosques is allowing extremists to gain a foothold among France's 5.5 million Muslims by funding places of worship, interior minister Nicolas Sarkozy earlier this month named a panel to look into the prickly question.

Laura any update yet?

1 November 2005 - Global Islamic Media post describes next wave of Al Qaeda attackers as "lily whites"

A posting made yesterday on an Arabic language jihadi message board by a person claiming to be a representative of Global Islamic Media describes the next generation of Al Qaeda soldier as a "lily white", of European origin, who was originally a Christian.

A complete translation is in process and will be released tomorrow. However, I am posting a portion of this tonight.

Russia tests Topol-M missile to subdue USA's $50-billion air defense
Pravda.ru ^ | November 2, 2005

Posted on 11/02/2005 12:32:53 PM PST by RDTF

The unpredictable flight trajectory of the Russian missile makes it immune to destruction

The successful test launch of the Topol-M missile has proved that the up-to-date Russian warhead is capable of subduing the USA's air defense, Russian military specialists say.

Russian strategic troops performed the test launch of the intercontinental ballistic missile RS-12M Topol on November 1. The chairman of the press service of the troops, Colonel Alexander Vovk, stated after the test launch that the missile successfully hit the conditional target on the Balkhash range ground in Kazakhstan.

It is worthy of note that yesterday's launch of the Topol-M missile became the sixth test of the system, which was created to subdue the US air defense. The Russian military command was keeping the entire flight data under control during the launch of the missile. The test showed that the maneuver, as performed by the missile on its flight trajectory, would not let foreign air defense troops intercept and destroy the missile.

According to the information obtained from the open sources, the arsenal of the Russian strategic troops currently has stationary Topol-M missile systems. It is planned to use the systems on both shaft and mobile bases in the future.

First shaft-based missile complexes RS-12M Topol-M (SS-X27 under the NATO classification) were added to the Russian defense arsenal in 1997. There are currently four missile units in the Russian troops working with Topol-M systems. Each of the units has up to ten intercontinental ballistic missiles, official sources say.

"This level of hysteria suggests anti-terror laws are sound"
The Australian ^ | 2nd November 2005 | Janet Albrechtsen

Posted on 11/02/2005 1:22:52 PM PST by naturalman1975

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "AUSTRALIA has a new measure of sound public policy. Called the Fairfax Index, it works like this. The more hysterical the hyperbole on a particular topic on the Fairfax opinion pages and the greater the number of progressive pen pals spilling their outrage on the Fairfax letters pages, the more likely it is that the target of their anguish is good public policy. Using the Fairfax Index, the latest anti-terrorism laws must represent very sound public policy indeed.

On Monday the index soared when The Australian Financial Review's Geoffrey Barker compared Australia, with its new "draconian anti-terrorist legislation", to Singapore as it moves towards executing Nguyen Tuong Van. "The Australian and Singaporean governments have basically similar authoritarian and retributive instincts," he said.

A rather low-rent comparison given that Australia is not yet executing people and, as far as I can tell, it's still legal to chew gum here."

"Siegel said the men were offered upgraded seats closer to the field as compensation for their inconvenience, and also were given the use of a private room in the stadium in which to pray. He said several of the men used the room to pray, but declined the better tickets."

&^%$#@%^&%^

WHY are they praying at a football game anyway? And coincidentally right next to the main air intake. Hmmmm. Then they are rewarded. Sheesh! How many of you think if we asked as Christians or Jews for a special room in which to pray that we would get one?

Coco is getting madder by the minute. We are so stupid!

And one more thing, they were noticed and reported during the first quarter and nothing was done until the third quarter. Just great! Dry run?

A new grammar rule devised by the European Union in Brussels stipulates the word "Christ" shall be spelled with a lowercase "c."

Ok then, "muzleems" work for me.

"The U.S. plan focuses on watching for this to happen, in the hope that quick action can contain a human outbreak early on. It includes $56 million in drugs and vaccines for use by the U.S. Agency for International Development in helping contain an outbreak outside the United States. "

It was reported today that this plan will take years to implement. Why am I not surprised?

Oh my, I've prayed at many football games. Especially when Elway was going for a long bomb. Bronco fans pray alot. But never wearing a prayer shawl, on a prayer mat, or facing Mecca. And especially never near a ventilation duct!

Speaking of football. My youngest son and my Dad are fierce Dallas Cowboy fans. My eldest son and Mr. RR are hard-core Bronco fans. They will all be here Thanksgiving Day. Guess who is playing each other that day! Hopefully, the L-tryptophan in the turkey will sedate them all a bit.

They still come in on student visas In droves!

Evaluation of Foreign Student Program

SNIP:The following evaluation of the foreign student program concludes that:

• The INS has little control over the number and type of students being admitted;

• The program is littered with corruption and fraud;

• American taxpayers subsidize a sizable part of the tuition of foreign students;

• The benefits from the program are greatly exaggerated, and the program may well generate a net economic loss for the country;

• The program is best viewed as yet another redistribution program, shifting wealth away from native workers and taxpayers and redistributing it to universities and

foreigners. Many foreign leaders, ranging from Pakistan’s former President Benazir Bhutto to Mexico’s Carlos Salinas de Gortari, from Israel’s Prime Minister Ehud Barak to Philippines’ Corazon Aquino, obtained part of their education in the United States. One can easily argue that such training may be one of America’s highest valued exports. By giving future foreign leaders first-hand exposure to American democratic values and showing them how the system works, we are presumably building a safer and more prosperous world.

Another foreign student, Hani Hasan Hanjour, a 26-year-old Saudi national, got a student visa to study English at ELS Language Centers in Oakland, California, a Berlitz-owned school that leases space at a local college. Hanjour did not attend a single English class. Instead, he became one of the terrorists in the plane that crashed into the Pentagon on September 11. And two other terrorists — including Mohammed Atta, the presumed ringleader — were waiting for the official approval of their student visas to attend flight school, an approval that the Immigration and Naturalization Service dutifully mailed out six months after the attacks. Understandably, many Americans demanded to know just how many foreign students were present in the country, and how many of those students originated in the countries identified as "terrorist sponsors" by the State Department.

The INS, however, had not learned the lesson from the Iranian hostage crisis in 1979, when President Carter considered the possibility of retaliating by expelling all the Iranian students then enrolled in American colleges and universities. He too wished to know how many such students would be affected. The INS could not provide that number during the entire 444 days of the crisis. And the INS still has no way of determining how many foreign students are present in the United States.

Another reason to boycott most of the EU countries.

How dare they!

BTW. I just started reading John Gibson's book, "The War on Christmas". He really nails it!
