Both parties have their share of criminals. And the common man is the every day working person, that was not born with a silver spoon in their mouth. The ones that work every day and are bearly keeping ther heads above water. The ones that the goverment do not feel that they should make at least $6.35 on hour and they should be able to live on and support a family on $5.15 an hour when our gas prices are well over $2.50 a gal. The small business man, the small family farms, these are the people that built this country and made the Bush's and Clinton"s of this country their wealth. The men and wemen In Iraq fighting and loosing their lifes and there familys back have to live on food stamps to feed them selves. Men and wemen dieing for what? Not wepons of mass destruction, they are no closer to Bin Ladon they they were at 9/11. This country is back in billions of dollars in the red again. People are loosing their jobs right and left, so where is the good?
Swim to Cuba
And you can do that on Friday nights at Walter Reed Hospital.
So many false premises in so few words.
Well I am at a bit of a loss as to where to begin with this. Maybe I'm just tired.
No one was ever meant to support a family on minimum wage. That is a training wage and meant to lead to better wages with better skills.
I read on another thread here that you can earn $1300 per week in New Orleans right now doing grunt work. Why don't you run down there and apply for a job? Apparently people are desperate for help there.
Well this person doesn't have his "facts" right but I expect he woudn't want to bother with facts. He knows what he knows and that's all he wants to know. Still, when faced with this type of ignorance I first consider whether or not the person is merely ignorant or just stupid. If the person is ignorant I will argue the facts and when doing so keep to those facts and not let the other person swerve off in any wild direction just to try and win an argument. If however, the person is just plain stupid, I encourage them to speak as loudly and as often as they can. :-)
First of all, I'd tell her that it's their, not there. She spells almost as well as Barbara Streisand.
I thought all liberals were more intelligent than conservatives. What gives?
Before he heads to NOLA to look for a job, he might want to study English as a second language.
"What do you say to a liberal?"
I don't say anything. They aren't humans, but rather a species of hairless retarded ape. Even if they could understand speech, they wouldn't be able to hear anything once I bash their skulls in with a baseball bat.
I'd say, "From each according to his ability. To each according to his need."
And, by the way, pay attention to your spelling. It's telling.
Well best of luck. Try and keep focussed on single issues. A standard argument technique is the shotgun blast of misinformation. Don't get caught up in that game. Focus on the primary issues. If he is a reader, then there are loads of well researched op-ed columns to help make your points. If he refuses to read... too busy, doesn't have the time, etc., you may have someone who really is quite dogmatic and doesn't want to be bothered by the facts.
I haven't laughed so hard in many days. That was funny, my man!
1. Too bad these people made choices to pursue a career that would never allow them to make $5.15 an hour. Even Wal-Mart has higher starting wages.
2. If gas stays cheap forever... where would the incentive be to create alternative technologies? We could be in a transitional period to the end of the Oil Age... *the* obstacle in our way is the environmentalists.
3. Jobs aren't being lost left and right. It's not hard to get a good job. However, there are many many lazy people who don't bother learning the fundamentals of their trade, and there's not a high demand for lazy and untalented in the skilled occupations.
If you're an adult with children and you're still only able to make minimum wage then you're going to have problems in any society - you certainly can't run a car or own a home.
The minimum wage is a poor idea anyway, but the only people who should be on it are new starters.
Where did you find this sub-literate little literary gem? Did somebody e-mail this to you?
And as for the "jobs being lost right and left" - I''ve got to go with Seamoth here.
You make your choices and live with them.
You choose not to go to college, you choose to have children before you can reasonably afford them, you choose to not avail yourself of the limitless opportunities for success in America.
Don't ask me to subsidize your bad life choices.
rest in peace?
