Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx turns 38 on Dec. 13, and there is only one birthday present he wants from California Gov. (and fellow actor) Arnold Schwarzenegger: clemency for Stan "Tookie" Williams.
Williams is an acclaimed author who has been mentioned as a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize. He's also a convicted murderer who is set to be executed on Foxx's birthday after 24 years on death row.
"We can't let it happen," Foxx told me last night at the premiere of his new film, "Jarhead." "We've got to do everything we can to get the word out. Do you know they've collected nearly 30,000 signatures so far?"
Williams was sentenced to death in 1981 for the 1979 murder of a Los Angeles area 7-Eleven manager, and, shortly thereafter, three other people at a motel. He was already infamous at the time for founding the Los Angeles street gang the Crips, who were responsible for hundreds of deaths.

"...if he is we need to have a forgiving heart towards him as he has confessed, shown remorse, turned away, and worked towards good..."
"Another Karla Fay Tucker"
Bingo. Another Karla Fay Tucker. Just like Tucker, you fry 'em because of what they've done, not who they've become. If you're gonna be pro-death penalty then you must accept this fact.
However, between the fact that wrongful convictions are very common (c'mon, most lawyers are libs!), and generally hinge on the quality of ones legal team, I've become anti-death penalty. The arguments concerning redemption are secondary, but they too are present.
sounds like Hurricane Carter and the slasher from Norman Mailer fame. Sorry to say that murder is murder and writing well does not pay back the fact that he took a life.

Paleo...I think the pic is inapropriate...I agree that Jamie Foxx is an idiot but cmon..let's not go there. He is probably a Mumia fan too.
Bingo
Burn 'em.
Now Foxx can play Tookie in the movie.
***
You may be right.
This reminds me of Ed Asner and that Mumia guy in Philadelphia. Once there was a documentary on Mumia, which among other things, featured Ed Asner stating all sorts of stuff, like so-called "new evidence" that was presumably disregarded, and after each bit of nonsense from Asner, the prosecutor would debunk it (the "new evidence" wasn't new evidence at all).
Or there was the murderer who wrote In the Belly of the Beast. I think it was Norman Mailer who championed and won the guy's release. I don't think the murderer was on the street for half a minute before he killed someone else.
Celebs do well as celebs, but when it comes to real issues, they oughta keep their mouths shut. They usually don't know anything about the real world out there.
Here's the picture. Of course if he's executed, he'll no longer be eligible for the Nobel prize.
I nominate him for the "Rest-in-Peace Prize."
For founding the crips alone, he deserves the drip(s).
LOL, he already has.
LOL...Oh man. I was kidding!
The piper has waited way too long to be paid.
Jamie might not...but there would be others (Sarandon, Sheen, Robbins et. al.) who would.
Jamie, I love ya, man, and Tookie's sorry butt needs to die.
That's bad... /smirk in spite of myself
listen stooopid... you willing to take his place? no??? then STFU!!!
I can get 3,000,000 million to say he should be executed.
