"It's really a tragedy that the world has done so little to stop this disease that kills 2,000 African children every day," said Microsoft Corp. Chairman Bill Gates. "If those children were in rich countries, we would have headlines, we'd take action. We wouldn't rest until every child was protected."

Too bad this idiot doesn't spend the money on protecting his operating system from viruses!

Memo to Bill Gates

Bill,
All you need to do is lobby the United Nations to start using DDT again. In 1960 malaria was damn near eradicated, but the EnviroWackos decided that DDT damaged eggshells and banned it. Now 45 years later, malaria is killing lots of people, but the birds are fine.
LOBBY: A nice word meaning bribe the bastards. If you need a better definition ask Koffe Anon or John McCain.

"Want to eradicate malaria? Bring back DDT."

EXACTLY MY THOUGHTS when I read the title.

Countless millions have died in the name of enviromentalist nuts.

In unrelated news Bill Gates on Wednesday announced the release of Malaria 2.0 - twice as deadly in half the time (when you can get it to work).

When you have 45 bil it takes a lot of dough down the drain to "feel good."

Here was the first article from a quick Google:

I also remember reading an article where he was supporting the estate (death) tax. I recall a hint of the old 'entitlement mentality'

A typical feel-good leftist gesture would be to do something like declare Malaria illegal, or have the UN pass a resolution expressing their disappointment with Malaria and it's human rights violations. ;)

You are right. Those are typical liberal gestures.

Throwing money away at a problem with no effective solution in the planning state is, as you mentioned, the mother of all feel-good leftist gestures.

I never said liberals were smart. :-) After all, Stupid Ted Turner donated $1 billion to the UN, at $100 mil a year (wonder if he followed through?), and still got dumped by Hanoi Jane. When you have as much money as they do, gestures take on a different form. It gets lots of personal publicity and much adoration from the useful idiots plus a tidy tax write-off.
