Wow! Lowest I've seen is $2.29 in Western PA. Maybe someone is lower, but that's the lowest I've seen.

Still too high, I think.

We saw 2.16 last weekend here in NE OH, down from the post-Katrina high of 3.45 (which only lasted a couple days).

Your $1.90 wins...so far. Would not have expected that price up east. $1.96 here in the Ozarks, at a couple places.

2.22 here, but why is diesal still at 3.20+?? ____ I was wondering the same thing...1.20 higher here, too. I'm sure some smart Freepers can tell us why.

Home heating oil season. Also gas has seen a drop in demand. Article was posted on FR about it. Diesel and related products are not seeing these same drop's in demand issues.

I filled up my tank yesterday in Cleveland with my Giant Eagle advantage card for $1.39 gal. Regular price $2.19 with an 80 cent per gallon discount that we earned at the Giant Eagle GetGo station.

That must be it... I thought that gas prices were consistently kept at only about 20% or so above (today's) raw oil prices. Shows how much I know :-)

Another idea would be a website that tracks gas prices across the country. Then travelers could plan their routes to get the lowest prices on the road. It would create more competition between states to keep gas prices down.
