Per Fox News...
Thanks for posting these cases; impressive!
BQ, ping and see post #13.
Happy Dance time. : )
I could not be happier because of that...LOL!
I am confident this is a major step in the Bush rehab tour, and he deserves it. Thank you, Mr President, for listening to us!
"Alito's from New Jersey, Specter's a Pennsylvanian."
But, the Court he presently serves on is physically located in Philadelphia. That's why Chiller said that Alito "lives and works in Specter's backyard".
I had Alito pegged early on, before the Roberts nominiation. I never dreamed I'd get my wish! Luttig may be a bit younger, but Alito is just as solid. I'm thrilled this morning!
"On Fox it's already started: "The President has pandered to the most extreme wing of his political party..blah, blah, blah""
I should have included the quote I was commenting on - I said it is interesting that Fox is owned by a Catholic.
Somehow, that's not surprising...

Alitos nomination to the federal Court of Appeals deserves clear sailing.

No, I'm thrilled with Alito. I just hope I can be as thrilled with the Congress during and after the hearings.
IMHO, Bush appointed Miers because he thought he couldn't get Alito through. Right or wrong, we'll find out.
As I said before, I hope I'm proven wrong about our Republican representatives. But after watching the Estrada mess and the Bolton mess (I know UN, not SCOTUS), but it doesn't give me a lot of faith in our so called "Republican" Congress.
If the Dems force it this time and the GOP uses the nuclear option what the heck are they going to do stop another nominee? Bush has nothing to lose which is bad news for them.
Are these fools any different than the DU or RAT crowd with their identity politics?
That's pretty insulting to Alito, isn't it?
Oh brother. I'm not disappointed at all. Get back to me when your reading comprehension is up to par.
I want to see Hillary forced to explain her vote.
The ship is back on course. I can't see how anyone should have bad words for the president on this issue today, BUT we will I'm sure.
FOX reporting the announcement to be at 8am EST.
There goes Wilson's 15 minutes of fame!
Will Rove be indicted for that?
The 7 who capitulated on changing the rules and breaking the fillibuster empowered the Rats. This is pretty much the same Senate who also capitulated on Clinton's impeachment. No one wants to see any one go down but fighting has to be more than just "tough talk" (and further gnawing or our own rat-tails over Miers). We have to find a way to put direct pressure on Senate Republicans to hold party discipline here. There must be consequences for Republican Senators "just walking" or "sitting it out" on a Republican nominee.
He is, of course, wrong about what Protestants believe ~ first of all, we all aren't like the tepid Episcopaleans who hang around in his social circles.
This is the risk you get with Alito ~ not that he's a Catholic, but that he will seek to avoid giving offense to what he believes to be the majority.
Best bet for Alito to show us that he's going to be his own man is to jump the reservation and join a neighborhood Pentecostal group. He could send a nasty note to the Pope while he's at it, but we could take him more seriously if he did that. Else, we are forced to believe he's just another cowardly Kennedy type.
:-) I do believe President Bush has rallied his base! (-:
Let's make this happen, people! Let's have this debate. Let's stand up for what we believe. We aren't ashamed to be conservatives. We're proud to be conservatives. It's MORNING IN AMERICA, BABY!
