Canada - More Dangerous To USA Than Mexico
Opinion Editorials ^ | 10/30/05 | Warner Todd Huston

Posted on 10/30/2005 9:12:20 AM PST by Mobile Vulgus

The neo-isolationists that fill the far right of the Conservative movement, fanned on by certain insincere radio hosts, have become so exorcised by Mexico that the issue is close to eclipsing the GWOT; the Global War On Terror.

The gnashing of teeth and wearing of sackcloth has, for some, reached such a fever pitch that no other issue is important to them. They are fixated on the fact that Mexico is the most dangerous thing the USA faces in the 21st century, that Mexico will destroy our culture, or destroy our economy. And this as we prosecute a war, yet.

Of course, we have major problems with our nearest neighbor to the south. We have rampant illegal crossings, drug smuggling with impunity and a loss of a large block of our economy as Mexicans send US dollars home to Mexico instead of spending it here.

But a little perspective would be nice because Mexico isn’t the most imminent danger the USA faces in the neighborhood. Canada is more of an immediate threat to our security by far than is Mexico.

I see the Chamber of Commerce is involved. I am sure they are far more sensible [...]

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce?

I know it... I live in Arizona and was on the border last week with the Minuteman project and within that weeks time we assisted the border patrol in detaining 714 illegals...

on the border alone one night we watch as they staged over 30 illegals just across the line waiting for us to leave... BP swooped in afterward to catch them, but they cannot get them all the time..

No. The most recent decision indicates that there will be no religiously-based dispute arbitration at all. Not Christian, Jewish, Muslim or Other.

I am sure there are some responsible Canadians who are decent folk and not rabid left wingers who get their kicks out of kicking anyone who disagrees with them and anything to do with the US and its allies.

But, but, but...

You just said that...

Canadians take themselves seriously and actually assume moral superiority, even although it makes them defacto supporters of Saddam Hussein and terrorism. Canadians are so self-righteous and thin-skinned.

And moreover, I am glad they are your neighbour and not mine. I'd be closing the border.

Now you tell me that it's OK for your Chamber of Commerce to establish closer ties to Canuckistan? This instills the impression that you are playing on either side of the fence, whichever best suits your agenda. If you'd be closing the border, why don't you advise your CoC then to cut the ties?

Interesting how you side with the Americans when you think they are at odds with Canada , actually include yourself and country when neither are part of the subject . Why would you label some one who disagrees with your posts or those you favour , a rabid left winger ? I don't think there are any left wingers, let alone rabid ones , here . What I really find strange is the posting patterns of yourself and this NZerFromHK .

I'm beginning to wonder if it's just coincidence .

Given that year after year the Liberals are returned to Parliament, I guess they number no more than 40% in the country's population.

Sorry Snowyman. I was thinking of those pictures posted of a certain street march in Toronto. One should not assume that such marches can only occur where the lefties are in the ascendancy. My heartfelt apologies.

Do you think it was right for anybody, be they Canadians, Americans, Australians, Antarctic seals, to suggest that it was OK for terrorists to wipe out innocent people in New York, Bali, New Delhi, or whatever?

Why Toronto? They only got one parade. I'd thought you'd be familiar with the two or eight ! closer to home. Perhaps you are and just didn't want to mention it. But then one shouldn't assume.

Australian Celebrations

Although it is held in February or March rather than June, one of the world's largest gay and lesbian pride events is Sydney's Mardi Gras celebration, which attracts more overseas visitors than any heterosexual event.

The festival traces its origins to a gay pride rally in 1978, staged in solidarity with the San Francisco Gay and Lesbian Freedom Day celebrations. At the small 1978
rally, fifty-three persons were arrested.

One measure of the progress of the Australian equal rights movement is that Sydney's Mardi Gras is now a month-long cultural event. The centerpiece of the celebration, the parade, is televised nationally and attracts from 500,000 to 750,000 participants.

All six Australian states also have annual gay and lesbian pride events. The Australian Lesbian Festival, held in a different state each year, has also become an annual
event.

" If the Sydney, Australia Gay Mardi Gras Parade is the largest and best in the world and rates as number ten, Toronto must be a two. "

Nor does Mexico accept sharia law as Canada does.

Ontario rejected adding Sharia to the civil arbitration system. they even went further saying that no religion shall have such a priveledge. Before the Muslims wanted Sharia, the Jewish and Christian communities could arbitrate civil disputes. Now, no one can and everyone has to go through the courts.

Same attitude with pseudo bravo to go with the hostility.

Maybe a male student at the same university or a bull dyke with a lot testosterone.

If you believe that Snowyman perhaps you should visit one of those marches and try taking your clothes off and marching Toronto style.

We don't have 20 million illegal Canadians sucking us dry.

Exactly !

If they closed the southern border we could then focus on the northern one

And how does your reply even remotely relate to my question?

It seems to me that whenever you're presented with your own inconsistencies you revert to one-line callouts or deviate into unrelated counterquestions instead of referring to the original question.
