[ Sandy Berger told the Grand Jury that his theft of Top Secret Classified Documents was inadvertant. Yet, that wasn't considered a mistruth. But, then again, his crime wasn't considered serious either. ]
Not entirely accurate or full bodied...
His crime(Bergers) was not considered serious the BY REPUBLICANS in charge..
The AG's office is republican based is it not.?.
From the AG's office we get; {crickets}...

"Should have indicted the ham sandwich, it would have made as much sense since obviously there was no underlying crime"
It would have made sense if he indicted J Wilson, that is where the lies are.
Now it is up to the CIA to go after Wilson, which I doubt they will.

Its from the RNC.
They ought to do a better job of getting it out somewhwere other than their own website.

That being said if it can be proven what Libby said was both MATERIAL and an INTENTIONAL ACT TO DECEIVE, then he should pay the price. Have you read the indictment? (link here) If you read the indictment it appears that Libby did intentionally try to deceive...the reporters who already knew that Plame worked for the CIA. His own testimony makes it look like he went out of his way to keep reporters from using the White House as a source for confirming her identity. (Which they already knew.)

He was practically foaming at the mouth over the indictment like Libby was a multiple murderer! Also his BEST friend, Comey, was the one that DIDN'T do anything to Sandy Burglar!

Now it is up to the CIA to go after Wilson, which I doubt they will. For what? For screwing up his assignment? It really looks like the CIA's mission was to take down a sitting President during a time of war and Wilson was their point man operative.

Fitzgeral is registered as an Independent.
There are two Independents in Congress;
Sen. Jim Jeffords I-VT and Congressman Bernard Sanders I-VT.

This case scares me--not because of its underlying merit, but because prosecutors can pressure indicted people to say anything about anyone.
Bush should pardon Libby now, fire the special prosecutor now, out Wilson as a liar now, and take the heat now.
A slow roasting by the MSM is not a good strategy imho.

I agree. And why wasn't Berger punished for STEALING documents and putting them in his pants? Hmm. Couldn't be because he was a demonrat now, could it? I hate these people. The older I get the more I hate politicians and democrats. Arggghhhh.

Any early line on whether the Prez would lean toward a pardon even if Libby goes down?

When and if the trial occurs, I hope to see Wilson on the stand exposing all of his LIES. I think this will end up being embarrasing for the Dems.

There's nothing to be scared about. This case is thin, Libby will never lie and sell anyone else out and the weight of the truth here is already rolling over the libs. It may not seem that way looking at the SAP (Stone Age Press)coverage but they are spinning as hard as they can to help take down the Pres. They might think it's selling in flyover America but it ain't.
Having a trial where Russert, Novak, Cooper, Wilson and Plame can be called and cross-examined by the defense could be the best thing that's happened to conservatives in a long time. Since Dan Rather anyway.

I was amazed to hear Fitzgerald on the radio. He sounded like a deer caught in the headlights. Or maybe a person very new at selling used cars.

Matthews is back pushing the Cheney angle. He and Fineman and the rest will not give up on this.
