Slick Willie's idea of consensus is "I want you to have sex with me; I think you should want me to have sex with you; therefore we have a consensus so drop your panties now."

Amazing how the Minority of 44 thinks they should be able to control the Majority of 55> should bow to their wishes.

Even more amazing is how the Majority of 55 lets them!

Schummer wrote Hillary's speech and his own, too. The President does NOT consult with the Senate first!! It's not the way it goes. He consults HIS people.

He did already. Miers was in a sense by consensus with the Democrats. In fact, her name was suggested by Democratic Minority Leader, Harry Reid. Yet, it didn't turn out well. So, let's try a different way, shall we?

I hereby urge the Junior Senator from New York to shove a mop handle down her own throat.

Sure thing Hill! A consensus of the extreme, radical right-wing conspiracists who elected Bush.

Oh, SENATOR Clinton. Should have read the article I guess.

Hitlery, the consensus is that you should resign and quit flapping those hound dog jowls.

"I urge the president to take seriously the Constitution's charge and to engage the U.S. Senate – both Republicans and Democrats – in a process of genuine consultation in order to identify and ultimately confirm a consensus nominee," the New York senator said in a statement Thursday.

First: The Constitution doesn't say ANYTHING about genuine consultation nor about getting a consensus nominee.

Second: The Senator's HINO (Husband in name only) did not engage the republicans in the senate (even though they were the majority party) to come up with "consensus" nominees when he was president.

Like this person has the best interests of the president, or the country at heart..

I still say senator Clinton, and Senator Schumer are living proof that NY'rs are not as smart as they pretend to be.

Here is what Bush should do. Invite Shoooomah, Biden, Layheee, and Feinstein to the White House. Consult with them, take their suggestions. Get some photos taken. Hell, even consult with some more dems. Then go straight out and nominate someone they will hate, but who is imminently confirmable.

It would be hillarious to see them howl about not being consulted, because they were. Instead, they will be howling about not getting to make the pick themselves, which will not sit well with the public.

Consensus among conservatives, maybe. Miers proved that Bush nominees can't get confirmed without conservative support.
