FReepers from the DC Chapter and beyond have countered Code Pinkos at their weekly obscene anti-war blood dance outside Walter Reed Army Medical Center for over half a year. Despite rain proceeding the event and a heavy mist during most of the FReep, FReepers were out in force again on Friday, Oct. 21. We had one FReeper, who traveled from Texas specifically to attend the FReep, and we had another in town from Arizona. We also were happy to have both Senator Clinton and Karl Rove join us, although BufordP roughed Rove up a bit over the Harriet Miers' nomination and lack of border enforcement. One of the Pinkos' photographers came up close for dueling cameras, whereas another took his shots from a distance.
Code Pink is truly stuck in a quagmire as FReepers severely hinder the Pinkos' cynical attempts to manipulate severely wounded soldiers and relatives in hopes of finding those who will join the anti-war movement and break faith with the troops still fighting a ruthless enemy. Please help us by showing up next Friday night per details below. Stand up against the Pinkos who've endorsed "the Iraqi resistance" (as they call our enemy, see here and here), given money to the other side in Fallujah, and called our troops "killers." Then, the Pinkos demonstrate at the hospital and pretend that they support our troops.
Cindy Sheehan is supposed to be there tonight, this Friday, Oct 28, at 7 pm so please make an extra effort to attend and to arrive early.
As we have done on a number of these FReeps, we ate pizza on site at the FReep.
The honor roll of those in attendance (lurkers are marked with an asterisk*): AprilfromTexas, beandog, Bill from MD*, Bmwcyle and daughter , BufordP, Christopher Lincoln, Doctor Raoul, Dustin10thMountain, Fraxinus, Gadsdenman, Iraqikurd, Jack Deth, Jimmy Valentines brother, Joan*, Justanobody, kristinn, Landry Fan, Paltz, Pleadeal, Spiff, tgslTakoma, Tolerance sucks rocks, trooprally (two FReepers: Mr. & Mrs.), and BillF.
That's 26 patriots including AprilfromTexas, who traveled from Texas specifically to attend this event. So where were you? The 26 also includes Spiff from Arizona, who after a hard work week far from home, made the time to get down to Walter Reed. Now for those of you who live a lot closer then them, why can't you make it? Unless you have medical, work, or family factors that prevent you from coming, you owe it to the troops to come. The troops tell us every week how important it is for us to be there. Don't just be a spectator, come out and show your support in person to the troops. You'll be glad that you did.
The event was so large that I can only present that part of the story that I saw. If you were there, please describe your own experiences at the FReep. Also, let me know if I publish your photo without your name or, worse, I mislabel you in a photo.

Click on another photo and its larger version should open in the same window that the first enlarged photo did. Or you can simply close the window with the enlarged photo and click on another photo in the report to open a new window with an enlarged photo. Note that some of the wider photos may open in a window wider than your screen and you can use a horizontal scroll bar to see parts. Photos will be interspersed in the report.
Photos were taken by bmwcyle (click here for his full outstanding collection of photos), tgslTakoma (click here for her full outstanding collection of photos), Gadsdenman (click here for his full outstanding collection of photos), and myself. For the photos included in this report, the photographer can be determined from the name of the photo. You can see that on hyperlinked photos (i.e., borders at edge) by running your mouse over them. On other photos, right click on the photo and click properties. The key is this: photos of bmwcyle begin with "Dbmw," photos of tgslTakoma begin with "Dtgsl," photos of Gadsdenman begin with "Dgads," and photos of mine begin with "DSCN."]
Opposed to our 26 patriots, the Pinkos managed to get 11 America-hating traitors and their well-meaning, but incredibly-misguided, dupes. The dupes do not realize that their Pinko organizers, who claim to support our troops, call our troops "killers," endorse "the Iraqi resistance" (those killing and wounding our troops, see here and here), and have given money to "the other side" in Fallujah.
The mist, and the possibility of rain, prevented deployment of the MOAB (Mother-of-all-banners). The mist also occasionally created spots on the photographs, appearing usually as circular light spots. I photo-edited some of the spots out of some of my photos as best as I could. Sarah wrap was used on numerous signs to protect them from the moisture and you can see the wrap on some of the signs.

Between tgslTakoma, bwmcyle, Gadsdenman, and your humble correspondent all operating cameras, including some with tripods and high quality telephoto lenses and flashes, we are easily able to document the FReep. On this night, a photographer (see below), apparently associated with Code Pink, came up close to get our photographs. At any rate, we had a close up duel of cameras and later had an across-the-street camera duel with another of their photographers.
The Pinkos were mismatched to our superior photographic capability. They lost badly in the dueling cameras, just as they are losing badly in their quagmire at Walter Reed. As Doctor Raoul led us in chanting later, "End the Occupation! Commies away from Walter Reed!"
Spiff had some additional outstanding chants and I'll let him repeat some of them in his replies. It's was great to have him with us, especially with AprilfromTexas as well. You too can come to DC and have fun by supporting the troops.

camera allows clear close-up photos of a single person at night from across the street as we can get. (We usually simply store, for
archival purposes without posting, the very high resolution mug shot style close-ups of individual Pinkos.)

As usual, the leftists had fled the scene of their psych-op against the troops when the bus of heroes (photo on right) back from a night on the town arrived. The injured patients and their family members are treated at a fancy restaurant on Fridays and the patient bus returns around 9:15 to 9:45. This forced Code Pink to change their 8 to 10 pm "vigil" to 7 to 9 pm several months back.
The Pinko leadership kept telling their dupes that the Walter Reed patients were happy to have the Pinkos protesting outside their hospital, but the patients overwhelmingly indicated displeasure at the presence of the blood dancing Pinkos. Specifically, the patient bus would stop before it turned into the gate. The driver would turn on the interior light and numerous of the troops would flip-off the Pinkos. The troops on the side of the bus facing us waved and signaled thumbs-up. Rather than having to explain the contradiction repeatedly, the Pinko leaders just rescheduled their protest so that the leftists would be disbanded by the time the bus arrived.
At any rate, and with the Pinkos gone on this night, the bus interior light came on when the patient bus stopped to turn into the gate. FReepers chanted USA, USA, USA and waved at the patients. They waved back appreciatively.
After the FReep was over, several FReepers went on base with a soldier and met some of the patients. AprilfromTexas, who was one of the FReepers, described it as "the highlight of the evening." I'll bet her smile was the highlight of the evening for more than one soldier. |
Bus of wounded heroes and families return from dinner. |
Let's help our wounded heroes maintain a positive attitude. We absolutely must keep the pressure on Code Pink and keep showing the wounded troops at Walter Reed that Code Pink doesn't speak for the nation. If you live in the DC area and haven't yet come out for one of these FReeps, please do so this next Friday. Injured Walter Reed patients, including amputees, have repeatedly told us how important it is for us to be there to counter Code Pink.
If we can sufficiently outnumber the leftists often enough, embarrassment may cause the leftists to stop these outrageous morale-damaging ("Maimed for a lie" was one of their commonly-used signs) demonstrations at the hospital. At the very least, we can hinder their psychological warfare operation against the wounded troops. What about you? Can you spare a few hours on a Friday night?
Can you give up next Friday night at the movies to support troops who've given up limbs for your freedoms? Will you?
This FReep is rewarding, fun and important for our troops and our nation.
DC Chapter co-leader kristinn has confirmed that we shall continue FReeping the Code Pinkos every Friday night until they stop their obscene blood dance outside the hospital of our war-wounded. If you agree with me that it is outrageous for Code Pinkos to demonstrate at a hospital with war-wounded troops inside, please come out and join us in a peaceful counter-protest.
One of the amputees told me months ago that he doesn't want other wounded troops coming into Walter Reed and seeing only the Code Pinkos at the gates. He explained that the FReeper presence there was extremely important to counter the Pinkos. Please join us and be a part of our peaceful counter-protest to Code Pink.
Please don't let the troops think that regular Americans are too busy with TV, ballgames, movies and other recreation to peacefully counter America-hating leftists.
Being there with us in spirit is great, but we need people to hold the MOAB (Mother of all banners), other signs, and flags. Maybe you can't come every week, but please make it your patriotic duty to join us at least once in the near future.
As always, the DC Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect.
Briefly, they are: No violence. No profanity. No racism. No provocations. Obey the law. Treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
Early start Oct 28 to prepare for Cindy Sheehan. Try to arrive as close to 6 pm as possible, will go to about 9:30 pm.
Walter Reed Army Medical Center, 7200 Georgia Ave., at Elder St., NW
Code Pinkos have been setting up on the southwest corner of the Georgia Ave/Elder St intersection. We've been setting up on the northeast corner across the street from Walter Reed's entrance gate. Now, their permit purportedly covers both corners on the west side of the street.
On street parking is usually easy to find, but might be a little harder is Sheehan brings her entourage. Location is about 6 or 7 blocks from Takoma metro station and is walkable, but it is best if you get a ride. If you want a ride, FReepmail me with your cell phone number or, if you have no cell phone, your ride request, preferable by 2 pm Eastern time, but at least by 4 pm Eastern.
FReepmail me or post a reply to get on the list. FReepmail me to get off the list.
Cindy Sheehan is supposed to be coming to Walter Reed at 7 pm, Oct 28. Join us in peacefully countering her.
Injured Walter Reed patients, including amputees, have repeatedly told us how important it is for us to be there to counter Code Pink.
If we can sufficiently outnumber the leftists often enough, embarrassment may cause the leftists to stop these outrageous morale-damaging ("Maimed for a lie" was one of their signs) demonstrations at the hospital.
Our troops are bold enough to face bullets, mortars, IEDs, and suicide bombers. Are you bold enough to get out from behind the keyboard, FReep in person, and stand up for the wounded troops at Walter Reed?
If you're in the DC area and don't have family or work considerations that keep you from FReeping, can you spare a few hours on a Friday night? Will you?
Cindy Sheehan to Defile, Defame and Debase Our Soldiers at Walter Reed Tomorrow - 10/28/05 - 7pm
October 27, 2005
Posted on 10/27/2005 7:53:40 PM PDT by tgslTakoma
For the 28th week in a row, members of the DC Chapter of Free Republic will stand across the street from the gates of Walter Reed Army Medical Center, in Northwest Washington, DC - to show our heartfelt support for our wounded soldiers and their families, to say "Thank you" to them and the medical presonnel who are helping these brave men and women to heal their bodies, minds and spirits, and to say "How Dare You!" to the America-hating members of Code Pink, Veterans for Peace and other heartless leftists as they protest our mission in Iraq, the president, this administration, and even the soldiers who volunteered to defend this great country.
But this week will be a little bit different.
Code Pink has dragged Cindy Sheehan out of mothballs this week to assist in their obscene blood dance, as they celebrate the 2000th death of an American soldier in Iraq. Cindy Sheehan has been in DC this week posing for the adoring MSM cameras, and the news of her "grieving mother" protest has led many news reports, ahead of the very encouraging news from Iraq that the Iraqis had voted to ratify their draft Constitution.
To top off Code Pink's celebratory week, Gael Murphy, Allison Yorra, Medea Benjamin and other enemies of this country have decided to use Cindy Sheehan as a headliner at WRAMC, in a disgusting attempt to prop up their obscene psychological war against our wounded soldiers and their families.
Cindy Sheehan will be at Walter Reed tomorrow. Code Pink plans to "deliver get well cards to the wounded soldiers," at 7pm. And of course, the media will be there, to "capture the emotional moment" when the "grieving mother" tries to enter a secure base.
This is a call to every able-bodied man, woman and child who loves this country and our soldiers:
If you are anywhere within a reasonable driving distance to our nation's capital, please join us. Our soldiers need us to stand up for them. They need to know that Cindy Sheehan, Code Pink and all the rest of the loudmouthed left DO NOT SPEAK FOR US!

Code Pink's Gael Murphy Pulls Boner: Frags Self With Antiwar Article Denouncing Walter Reed Protests
Code Pink Frags Itself! ^
Posted on 10/27/2005 8:46:21 PM PDT by tgslTakoma
Not even bothering to read through articles they post on their website, Code Pink's DC prima donna, Gael Murphy saw an article written by an anti-war Vietnam vet that was titled "The Cost of War at Walter Reed," and thought she had hit pay-dirt.
So she posted it, apparently without reading it first. Big mistake.
The author of the article, Stewart Nusbaumer, writes that he was wounded in Vietnam and spent time at Bethesda Naval Hospital as an amputee recuperating from his very serious wounds; and writes his article from the perspective of one who has been where today's wounded soldiers are.
Click on this link to Code Pink's DC website and read it for yourself. About midway down in the article, read the section titled "The Rules of War." Note well Rule Number Three:
[SNIP]
Rule 3: forget your moral questions about the war. Morality is for those who support the war and for those who oppose the war, not for those in the war. Those seriously wounded are still fighting the war so clam up about the immorality of this stupid war.
A corollary to this rule is never protest against a war in front of a military facility, especially a military hospital. That is a no-brainer.
You've commented before that you might try to come to Walter Reed some Friday.
If you could get Fox to report the truth that Code Pink's own website now carries an article denouncing their tactics of war protests at a military hospital. See:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1510698/posts
This might be a good Friday to show up and watch Cindy Sheehan work the cameras.
If only the press would ask her Code Pinko handlers why the war protest at a hospital when their own web site includes an article, from the viewpoint of an anti-war wounded vet, condemning such tactics.
Sorry I can't make it tonight. I hate to miss the fun, but work interferes. My heart will be with you.
Bumping thread.
Come out tonight.
Did you get my FReepmail about the time I was to meet you?
I got your reply FR-mail. I gather that you can likely meet at the proposed time at the secret location discussed?
Thank you for writing another great report Bill. Another one for the archives!
Freepers, if you are at all able to, please adjust your Friday night schedules and come stand with us in support of our wounded soldiers at Walter Reed tonight.
BTTT
As Clint Eastwood's character says in HEARTBREAK RIDGE, "Shut your face, hippie."
He could have been talking to pinko creeps protesting outside WR.
See everyone tonight.
I love the larger banners...they show up at night, whereas the smaller signs do not. WE all love the MOAB! That one kicks butt! I know our troops love seeing that as they are bused in and out of the hospital.
Wish there were a way to light up the signs, ie., battery operated spotlights, or something. That would make a HUGE DIFFERENCE, shining the light of truth upon your mission to support our fabulous troops, their families, their mission and our President and nation.
I wish your staked out corners were so brightly lighted that every vehicle passing by could know EXACTLY what you are representing.
Thank you all for what you do...I hope cindy gets an eyeful, and an earful.
It would also be one great big bummer for the sick, truly soul sick communists.
OK soup for you.
BTTT for tonight!
I still am reeling from Kristinn's ability to resist punching the lights out of the soul sick liberal commie creep who trashed the heart of the parent's of the soldier who died in Iraq.
I would have been so inflamed I would have not needed a megahorn to blister the ears of that nightmare of a human being.
LIberals ARE SO USED to the mild mannered, meek, if you will, civil conservative souls who inhabit our nation, IT IS A GOOD THING to let them know we have FIRE in our BELLY (thank you billy the rapist clinton for fanning this quiet flame!).
Looks like I'm gonna miss some action tonight. Have fun without me. See you next Friday.
