Also the title of my favorite song to sing while drunk.
This is the person that the President should have nominated in the first place.
I hope those listening are drunk toowhen you sing it. There are some difficult notes in that number.
Based on this speech, JRB qualifies as brilliant. A far cry from the stilted, semi-informed, crypto-PC prose of Harriet Miers.
later read.
Imagine - JRB gets on the court. Then it would be fun to be a fly on the wall of the confrence. She and Scalia get into a conversation, feeding off one another's ideas, Roberts and Thomas chuckle, Souter is lost, Kennedy trys to interject, "What would Europe do?" and palpable steam coming out of the ears of Stevens, Ginzburg, and Breyer
Wow! With a compass like that and a towering intellect JRB will make mincemeat of the Dems. Nominate her today, W.
An opportunity lost, has returned.
Not often does that happen.
I will follow this President into Hell,
even though I don't believe he will lead
there. If he will now fight our enemies
on the left, the demonrats don't stand
a chance.
Janice Rogers Brown, my choice also.
Even if she gets on, there are still 5 liberal votes to 4 conservative. I don't understand how people think the court will "tilt" with another conservative.
Now, if Stevens leaves, that would be awesome.
Janice Rogers Brown
Edith Clement
Edith Jones
Karen Williams (my first choice)
Michael Luttig
Ted Olson
Emilio Garza
All would be good choices.
Irrespective of her race and gender, I really like the way she puts things. But, taking those issues into accout, I would dearly love to see the left forced into the terribly uncomfortable corner of having to oppose a black woman nominee.
Ditto that. I can't believe that anyone who gives speeches like that could possibly be afraid of the slings and arrows of the Senate Judiciary Committee, especially since she's just been through it once, and survived.
This is the work of a powerful, incisive mind.
It has been floated by a well known pundit, in the company of friends and off the record, that the story of qualified people withdrawing their names is poppycock and they have called reporters to tell them so....
Something tells me that is the case here....she did not withdraw her name and she is ready to rumble
In case you missed this one...
