just breaking!!!!!!!!
I admit there are some problems in the Party ..
But I will NOT side with the likes of Pat Buchanan, John McCain and Bill Krystol ... who have done everything they can to hurt the party
grrrr
said they were going = said they weren't going
Wrong, nimrod. If DUBYA appoints a 'TRUE CONSERVATIVE' we'll agree. Just what kind of a conservative are you? An Originalist or a Democrat in Republican clothing?
YIPPEEE!!!
YIPPEEE!!!
OK, I'll take that point and raise you the fact that you just gave it all back to the Dems, but you are too wrapped up in your own BS to understand what you have done.
You have split the COALITION!
We won't be coming to your party on the next go around. You can't win without us, anymore than we can win without you, but if we have to do it your way without compromise, then you lose too!
Shame me once....Shame me twice.....but you will not do it a third time. This is the second time and the last.
Enjoy!
Then the party will be empty. A party is just a collection of people, nothing more. The coalition adopts some common ideals which in the case of Republican party are conservative.
Parties change, ideologies stay pretty stable. The Republican party of 2004 is far different than the Republican party of 1968.
If the Republican party wants to adopt liberal ideology as Bush most certainly has done in fiscal matters, then the Republicans can't expect to get many voters with a conservative mindset to vote for them.
You don't have to like Patty Buchanan or John McLame to be dissatisfied with the GOP. Bush wants to have it both ways by appealing to the base and to RINOs. He can't do both.
They won the house back because of what the Clinton's were doing .. Hellary Care .. Tax Increases, Taxing SS ... etc.
Conservatives, like everyone, vote in order to be represented.
If a group (Republicans) fail to represent a given group (Conservatives), then the vote changes.
Calling for Conservatives to abandon the GOP is the wrong way to go, especially with Hillary '08 coming up.
How about calling for the elected party to represent those who voted for them instead?
I've said in many posts, that Coulter went over the top. That is her style about everything though.
Anyone else? Do you think Miers quit because of Ann Coulter?
I have to know...who is "we" kemosabe?
Give me two contemporaries: Thomas Jefferson or George Washington?
George Washington.
Give me some more contemporaries:
General Clark or Hillary Clinton?
Easy call: General Clark.
General Clark or John McCain?
Harder call.
General Clark or John Kerry?
Before the Swift Boat Veterans for truth revealed that Kerry's military record was mostly a tissue of lies, that would have still been an easy call: General Clark.
My point isn't that every Veteran is more qualified than everybody else. It is that Veterans share quite a bit in common: every one of them under the age of 50 self-selected at a young age for national service, took an oath to the Constitution. They have a higher general level of expertise and comprehension of security issues than the monopoly of lawyers who run both parties. They come from all walks of life, and are mostly middle class. They know how to follow laws, and how to cooperate with each other on a team.
You seem to suggest that a military background is not a particularly appropriate source of trust for power.
I would assert that in time of war, a military background is a higher qualification to be trusted with control of national security than any other background.
Just my opinion, of course.
Did they say in what way she wasn't doing well?
Miers withdrew because it was the honorable and right thing to do.
We would not have a US Supreme Court without the protection of the Military.
Politicans and Judges are safe because of the Military who protect them.
Bump!
What, did she spill the coffee?
If you’re looking to elect conservatives, I’d suggest sending money directly to conservative campaigns. You can find out about them right here, if nowhere else. The NRSC actively campaigns against conservatives like Toomey and currently Laffey in R.I. Next time they call asked them if they’ve pulled the negative ads against Laffey. You can contribute to Laffey directly and help get rid of one of the worst liberals in the Senate.
Are you saying that a president shouldn't listen to ALL those who elected him?
