GAY PUBLICATION 'OUTS' ANCHORS
Show Biz Data ^
Posted on 10/26/2005 10:23:55 AM PDT by LesbianThespianGymnasticMidget
The gay-oriented Houston Voice has "outed" CNN's Anderson Cooper and Fox News Channel's Shepard Smith, charging that they "choose to hide and deceive -- and to protect their incomes and images -- at the expense of contributing important weight and star power to the gay civil rights movement." Managing Editor Kevin Naff claims in an editorial appearing in the current edition of the Voice that Smith once tried to pick him up in a gay piano bar in New York City and that Cooper dodged a question about his sexual orientation in a recent New York magazine interview by saying, ""The whole thing about being a reporter is that you're supposed to be an observer and to be able to adapt with any group you're in ... and I don't want to do anything that threatens that." Commented Naff: "Does he believe that female and African-American reporters lack credibility to cover stories since their minority status is showing?"

And this matters....how? Who cares if they're gay. There are gay folks everywhere. Some even may work in the White House. Who cares?

What part of "I don't want to know about your private life, especially when it disgusts me, so please shut up about it now. I don't talk about my sex life, please refrain from informing me about yours." do they not understand?Seeing as how the entire article is about Shep and Anderson refusing to talk about it but other people trying to out, perhaps your criticism is misdirected.

How could you be raised by Gloria Vanderbilt and NOT be gay?Excellent point. At least he's not the ringleader in a recent rash of 7-11 robberies.

That sentence really jumped out at me, too. This claim that they "choose to hide and deceive -- and to protect their incomes and images -- at the expense of contributing important weight and star power to the gay civil rights movement" is pretty telling. I guess it's one thing to oppose a military draft, but if you're gay, there's no avoiding the "gay civil rights movement" draft. And your "weight and star power" is the property of "the movement." Gee, if the whole idea is "tolerating" other people's choices, why can't they tolerate the decisions of others to remain private about their personal lives? That's a rhetorical question, by the way.

Homosexuals can't wait to make someone's (usually their own) homosexuality everyone's business, but will always tell you it's none of your business if you comment on it.

I'm sorry but one of my wife's friend's husband (I know, I know) used to hang out with Shep before he, the friend's husband, got married. And some guy I saw on the internet has a wife who's friend's husband used to be friends with Shep. He says that his wife's friend's husband says he isn't gay.

I don't read tabloids, except the front pages at the grocery store. Don't they talk about who is dating/marrying/living with who? I didn't realize they talked about the fact that some star was having heterosexual sex with someone. It's a given they are having sex, but do the tabloids mention whether it's heterosexual/homosexual sex?

The only way Anderson Cooper could appear more gay is to actually burst into songs from Cabaret!.

I usually avoid these thread...but I agree with you that Shep is NOT a homosexual. I have heard him and Bret Baire(sp) speak many times about going out on the town, bar hopping, etc....I don't think Bret Baire is a homosexual. I just cannot believe this about Shep Smith. I mainly like Shep because Brit Hume sings his praises....and that carries a lot of weight with me. If I was Shep, I would sue the man making this claim.
Thanks for your inside knowledge.
Of course, Anderson Cooper....everyone knew he was a homosexual.

ok, here's my 2 cents worth..anyone can say anyone is gay for whatever reason..unless and until it's proven, it's unfounded rumor, nothing more..and even IF true, so what..
