Gas prices in and around Indianapolis are on the way down, I have seen it for as low as $2.25/gal and yet I see no word from the MSM about this development! Why??
Anyone else notice this in their area?
Because it's good news???
Down to 2.12 in SW Missouri.
No. Because prices in NC are not way down. Still hovering around Katrina prices. 2.69(in Fayettenam) Of course oil is down as are gas prices itself from those highs. Still sticking it to us. NC has 3rd highest gas prices in country.
Good news is bad news to the MSM....
Well, to be honest, I did see some stories in the past few days that gas prices were falling. In past days, I've seen stories where the "average price...has dropped $0.25." It certainly feels like more around my house too. It's not being trumpeted by the MSM, that's for sure. They're all focusing on possible indictments coming against those with ties to the White House.
Even Long Island is cheaper than that.
2.38/gal in Central IL. I did get my first natural gas bill of the season and it is already 1.17 therm which is awfully high for this early in the season. I normally don't see it climb this high espscially in October.
Prices coming down in S.E. Michigan - $2.27 in the Western suburbs(Livonia, Plymouth, Canton). Higher in Northern suburbs and Northern Michigan.
Way down from what? To most Americans, they are still way up.
Because the MSM only reports and reports and reports when 'the chicken little syndrome' can be used. Notice I said can be used, such as the Katrina episode.
THE SKY IS FALLING, THE SKY IS FALLING.
Because most rational people don't consider $2.25 a gallon to be "low"?
First off, you can't get Bill O'Reilly to shut up about it. He's taking credit for it himself!
On the other hand, you're right. However, what should be big news is that not only isn't the price of diesel fuel falling, it's been going up. My guess is that the same is happeneing for fuel oil too. I don't know why, but it's going to increase prices on EVERYTHING.
Mark
Why are gas prices news anyway?
Who buys gas and doesn't know if the prices are higher or lower? Really.
I know, the reason it matters now, is because the LSM makes hay of high prices to bash Pres. Bush. Personally if the LSM NEVER again informed me of "news" that is freakin plastered on signs all over town.
Complain if you want, but IMO you're just playing to the laziest version of "reporting" EVER.
$2.57 to $2.85 for Regular is Silver Spring MD according to Gas Buddy
Down 50 cents in the past month here in my part of NC.
I paid $2.84 yesterday for 89 oct. in Los Angeles.
They are far too busy recreating the journalistic "Glory Days" of Watergate (Valerie Plame!) and Vietnam (2000 Americans dead in Iraq!) to notice anything as mundane as a growing economy and falling energy prices.
