Here in Sacramento, CA, the price of gasoline has dropped around 30¢ since the height of the hysteria over the oil production damage from Katrina and Rita. I expect it to drop even more over the next few weeks.

In Santa Cruz I paid $2.89 for regular yesterday. Hasn't gone down much here at all.
