There are several crosses on that seal. There's one at the hilt of the sword. There's one that looks more Indian in origin, but it's still a cross, and there's that highly offensive "T" in "Tijeras"!
This thing was like a red flag to the nutcases at the ACLU. Even now they are probably plotting and planning their next lawsuit as they undertake the redesign of this town seal a cross at a time.
We can hear their panting behind the door.

There is a big old native American religious symbol (the "zia" I believe) on the helmet which the bigots at the ACLU of course ignore.

The ACLU needs to be wiped out of existence just like the terrorist they are.

One day when San Diego (KOGO) radio talk-show host Roger Hedgecock was filling in for Rush Limbaugh, he mentioned a new bill in the House of Representatives. That bill would change the law that allows the ACLU (or any other organization) from making money when they lose a case they bring against someone.
Does anyone know what happened to that Congressional bill? It would put the ACLU out of business PRONTO!

I am no longer shocked at the depths to which the ACLU will stoop to in assaulting CHRISTIAN symbols. Their actions go way beyond mere separation of Church and state. This is anti-Christian bigotry, pure and simple.

The SECOND AMENDMENT was written for occassions where the protection of the "govt" was non-existant or the cause of the loss of freedom.
The ACLU and their "MASTERS" had best remember that and tremble.

The Secular Jihadists of the ACLU are truly offended by the tiniest mention of the Christian contribution to our country's heritage. A plague upon their house!

I guess Maryland will be next. Not only is the Cross a prominent part of the flag, it is also displayed on the flag pole.

In 1973, Tijeras adopted the seal, which was designed to symbolize the history of the town. It includes a conquistador's helmet and sword, a scroll, a desert plant, a fairly large religious symbol (the Native American zia) and a small Christian cross.
My sense is that all of those symbols were included from the beginning and that it was, therefore, a secular usage of the cross included with other historic items.
I expect the ACLU to lose this one.

I've begun to think the ACLU is going to expire of its own inanity.
Are tiny crosses, Ten Commandments plaques, and preventing some little kid from saying a prayer really the great libertarian issues?

The ACLU sure has been busy, filing lawsuits all over the country.
What a sick organization, supporting pedophiles and other perverts, trying to destroy anything that promotes good character, resorting extortion.

Thanks - I'll ping my list later this afternoon.
The ACLU needs a stake in its evil black heart.
