A 30-second TV ad is set to air tomorrow, Wednesday, that some believe may be as effective at helping stop the Harriett Miers confirmation as the Swift Boat ads were in helping stop John Kerry.
BetterJustice.org, a conservative grass-roots organization, created and funded the hard-hitting anti-Miers (but pro-Bush) ad. The organization's board of directors includes several otherwise staunch Republican stalwarts, such as David Frum and Linda Chavez.
"Miers is no more qualified to sit on the Supreme Court than I am to be a sumo wrestler!" So stated the so very un-sumo-like Ann Coulter.

"The appropriate place and time to voice your concerns is to the Senators during the hearings."
My Constitution is missing this part. Could you point it out to me?

I'm not arguing whether she's conservative or not. I don't care one way or the other. I care whether she has a strict constructionist judicial philosophy. Those are not the sameOK, I'll bite. Name me one liberal who was a strict constructionist on the SCOTUS.

Thanks for the history lesson.
The internet as it existed at the time of Sandra Day O'Connors nomination, was accessible only at universities, libraries and other places where there was both public and private access. But not from the home.
"Before there ever were home computers, people talked to each other; face to face, on the phone, and *gasp*, even wrote snail mail."
Having lived through both, the political mobilzation of people over today's internet is far more effective than snail mail.
However, perhaps you could give me some pointers about the practical comparison of the horse and buggy to the automobile?

I have read and enjoyed your postings over the years. I know that you are smart enough to know that "conservative" in political philosophy does not equal "strict constructionist" in judicial philosophy. Certainly a person's political leanings MAY show a tendency to a judicial philosophy but are not a certain predictor.
Having said that, in regards to your question, I doubt there are any. But the information in regards to Ms. Miers judicial philosophy is practically nonexistent, and in regards to her political philosophy, spotty at best.

"The fact remains taht affirmative action never has been or will be a conservative principle."Most Fire Depertments are still all or mostly men. In fact when this situation changes and there are more women, there will be less effectiveness and greater damage to property and loss of life.

How does voicing opposition go around the process? You ever hear of the 1st Amendment?? I can say whatever I want and you don't have to like it or agree with it either.

I think the President deserve the benefit of the doubt. It's his job to nominate candidates to the supreme court, and I'm willing to stand proudly with my decision to elect him.
I haven't heard anything about Miers that would disqualify her, and I will error with the President before I jump on some pencil pushers bandwagon.

When Frum rants and raves like you do, that will be some kind of show.

Listen to who is NOT talking about Harriet Miers; that's all you need to know.
LOL! That's pretty rich there Howlin. I ran across this gem, and I'm sure this is someone you all will be proud to be standing beside when this is all over.

........it aint about one person or another, its about the conservative movement as a whole we will wipe up Miers on her qualifications not her personal life ,we arent the rats afterall!~!!Oh, but there is a person here. Harriett Miers, who is more accomplished than you will ever be.
And, yes, you sound like someone who would "wipe up Miers" both on her qualifications and, if that didn't work, on her personal life as well.
