I think if there is a subpoena in the mail, Dobson is going to do an about-face on this nomination imminently.

The conservatives mishandled this nomination in a big way, all around. I can't believe that Dobson would open himself up to this. But he did.

I think supporters of this nomination have handled it badly. Conservatives have done a great job of resisting the nomination.

Yes they have -- they certainly have more fight and common sense than GWB.

We'll see after we know what the result is. I have a bad feeling that the conservatives are going to wish they had Miers when all this is done.

OTOH, it could be the Libs wishing that very thing.

I don't think Dubya will make the same mistake twice.

Listened to Dobson about 10 days ago via radio when he explained the whole thing to the listening audience. He went on further to say that he's prepared to testify and he'll tell them what he's telling the listening audience. The so-called "assurances" he received he couldn't talk about it because Miers' name hadn't been released. Two days later when MSM reported Miers nomination he could explain everything. Good grief! Making a mountain out of a molehill.

Dobson has already disclosed that Karl Rove told him. It would make more sense to call Karl Rove to testify about why he said what he said.

"I don't think Dubya will make the same mistake twice."

If this was a mistake, then Bush is more of a dimwit than even his enemies suggest. Even if every Republican and Conservative fell in line behind his choice, like good little bushbots, someone, at some point would have asked Harriet a question, any question. Then it would've been apparent how "uniquely" qualified she really was.

I would like for her to wow them with her intelligence at the hearings. and I would like for her to really be a Conservative. But there is nothing out there to indicate either.

Sen Kennedy: What personal assurances did the WH give you about nominee Miers?

Dobson: That she was a good Christian and s strict Constructionist.

Kennedy: Ub Da DOH.

Hmmm "Are you now or have you ever been a conservative Christian??"

The problem with my frail attempt at humor is that communism actually is dangerous to human beings. Christianity is only dangerous to communism and contemporary popular culture.

Dobson: So Miers is pro-life?
Rove: Big-time.
Dobson: Cool.

That's Dick Chaney's line.

He got it from Rove, I'm sure. Doncha know that Rove is the mastermind behind everything in the White House? Bush and Cheney have little earphones implanted. Rove tells 'em what to say. Sheesh! [grin]
