At 20.26 CET, exit polls are showing that the winner of the final round of the Polish presidential election is Lech Kaczynski from the Law and Justice party.
The poll for public television, TVP, showed that Kaczynski polled 53.52 percent, and Donald Tusk of Civic Platform received 46.48 percent.
Turnout has been estimated to be around.50 percent, the same as two weeks ago in the first round.
Polling stations closed today at 20.25, instead of 20.00 as usual, due to the late opening of a station in the town of Legnica.
In the first round of the election two weeks ago, Donald Tusk received 36 percent, to Lech Kaczynskis 33 percent.

Yep!
However - I'm not crying.
It was the choice between good and better candidate and I considered Tusk as the better one.

I am so sorry that your candidate Donald Tusk didn't win, but I'm sure the Polish people will rally around their new president, Lech Kaczynski. I hope he will be a friend to America!

I guess Poland not is prepared to be modernized yet, most of the farmers, followers of Lepper etc gave their vote to Kaczynski. People in the cities, businessmen and students voted for Donald.

Thanks for the update on the election results. Without my freeper friends, I'd have a hard time following the news from E. Europe.
I hope this works out well for Poland -- based on what little I've read here, it sounds like Mr. Tusk may have been the better candidate. But it sounds like either man may do a good job.
