Republican pol is booked on conspiracy, money laundering charges

OCTOBER 20--Here's the Tom DeLay mug shot snapped this afternoon when the deposed House majority leader appeared at a Harris County, Texas sheriff's office to be booked on conspiracy and money laundering charges. The Republican pol, 58, was forced to submit to a brief photo and fingerprint session after a District Judge yesterday issued an arrest warrant for him. DeLay's mug shot was taken at the sheriff's office in Richmond. The congressman is scheduled for his initial court appearance tomorrow in Travis County District Court. (2 pages)

Yes, this needs to become a fund-raiser for Delay. The msm will have a cow, and I'll be happy to send him a check to get a picture of a Republican with a backbone!

LOL! Sweet justice.

The only way to improve this picture would have been if Delay had worn a flag lapel pin. It would have sent the DUers to mass suicide. Good job Congressman!

""You sure about that? I hardly consider getting a clearly guilty murderer found innocent "ethical""

"Ethical" in this context means honest arguments, not eliciting purjory, arguing within the reasonable bounds of the law, etc.

Prosecutors expect a fight; it's an adversary system, after all.

Ardent defense is necessary because prosecutors would otherwise routinely overstep the law and railroad people --- Delay case being but one example. They do it for self-promition, politics, you name it.

I am unsure of the "clearly guilty murderer" --- found "not guilty" (distinct from "innocent").

In such a situation --- I am told one is defending the Constitution and the People --- not the scummy criminal --- keeping the system honest.

And, no, not a lawyer. Just married one. A prosecutor.

I don't know if other states are showing the Rotweiller ad about Ronnie Earle or not?

Here in Texas, it's been showing quite a lot. A Rotweiller growling and barking while someone talks about how Ronnie Earle kept trying until he got a Grand Jury to go along, etc. or words to that effect.

Then it says to contact Ronnie Earle and gives his phone number. I'm wondering if that number has been changed. LOL!

To: LesbianThespianGymnasticMidget; All

I love this picture of Tom.

But .. I wanna tell you - normally police don't allow you to smile when you're booked. It's not because I've ever been booked - it's because I was doing the booking! However, Houston is Tom's territory - and I suspect the police took a little liberty with Tom. And .. I also noticed that Tom wasn't holding up a sign with a number on it either .. LOL!!

I think it's just GREAT! Let the stinking dems use the photo - they aren't going to get any mileage out of it at all. I think it's a hoot!!

Of course the snakes could doctor up the photo - which I wouldn't put past them.

We will hopefully move to Texas just for the privilege of living in DeLay's district.

(we are refugees from New York State)

Tom could have turned himself in at any police unit. He did not have to go to a specific police unit to be booked.

I never thought of "co..." Ah well. Thanks anyway!

Me either. Fortunately Dictionary.com's Artificial Intelligence does a fair job of finding the correct word even when you feed it mangled misspellings.
