Rep. Kirt Weldon is on Michael Savage's radio program, and he is implying Rumsfeld is the one blocking further investigation into Able Danger.
Weldon is fuming; says he personally (in a committee hearing) asked Rumsfeld about the investigation being blocked. Rumsfeld replied that he would 'get back to Weldon with a response.' Weldon says he still has gotten nothing from Rumsfeld.
Weldon to give a speech in a few moments this evening on the floor of the House. It should be aired on CSPAN this evening.
Why Rumsfeld? He's not responsible for the Clinton left-overs who are probably doing this stuff on the sly.
Sorry Oxen, if I slighted you the credit...but, I know Mo1, you were instrumental in keeping on Tony Snow to get him to find out what was going on, at least I am pretty sure....hehe
BTW...OXEN didn't start the Senate LIVE Thread today...you think he is busy evacuating? I don't know what part of FLA he is from, do you?

I wonder why Sean would say that. I haven't read Morris' (new book and don't plan to) but I would think it would be a fluff piece compared to Freeh's.

I am serious. Bush came into the Presidency. Most people were not thinking much about terrorism & neither was he.
His administration made some mistakes vis a vis Able Danger. Probably 1/20th of what Clinton did in this regard. Maybe 1/100th. But enough for him to want to cover it up.

Well, we have people in the Pentagon who have a vested interest in covering mistakes. Who knows the cause of this? Maybe some general who was aware that the higher-ups didn't want to hear anything that might cause discomfort to his professional or political superiors. People make rank in the military as much for political skills as for professional ones.
