"Not me, I have loved the Rocky movies, even the bad ones."
______________________________________________________________
I'm with you. I actually liked Rocky IV. He loses his entire fortune, moves back to the old neighborood, Adrian goes back to her old job at the pet store. He finds out Mick left him his gym and he reopens it, becoming a mentor to a young up-and-comer while neglecting his eldest son, who is left to the tender mercies of the local schoolyard bullies who want to whup Rocky's son. The boy is forced to study boxing on his own to defend himself. An evil Don King-like manager keeps trying to tempt him back into the ring with a huge payout and, when he rebuffs him, seduces away his young protegee who turns evil overnight and harrasses him into an impromtu street brawl where the ghost of Mick (Burgess Meredith was still alive and kicking at this point) goads him to victory once more. Father and son are reconciled, the evil impresario gets a free front-end realignment and we all live happily ever after--rich in the things that truly matter.

The best sports movie ever was Slap Shot. Any movie where somebody cries is a chick flick.

Different kind of crying in Passion. And Hicks was whining in Aliens not crying.

THAT is a great observation. And Slap Shot is a great movie. Not sure it's the best movie ever, but it's up there in the top ten. Did you know they have a Slap Shot II (one of the Baldwin doofuses is the star)?

Miracle was a great sports movie too. "I play for the United States of America." Damn, that was a good line.
Still, Slapshot is hard to top.

I can hardly wait for Rambo IV, especially the final scene when he smashes into the elementary school and blows up his car screaming "Death to the infidels!"
Oh, wait a minute - Rambo's on our side?
