beneficence \buh-NEFF-i-suhns\, noun:
The practice of doing good; active goodness, kindness, or charity; bounty springing from purity and goodness

As the British troops marched out to surrender, the British bands played the song "The World Turned Upside Down."

Aw, he just wanted out.

I left a shelter with my daughter, I told her, I can't do this anymore. I had been going for a few weeks while they were in school. The experiences broke my heart. One dog looked at me disappointed and sad, after I came back a 2nd time and saw him again, it was as if he knew I wasn't taking him. After they showed me the dog originally and I played with him, they told me he was just a puppy. I thought he was grown and he would have gotten to big for us to keep. I checked back and someone did adopt him. I was so relieved.

My daughter made me call one more shelter that day, and our dog had only been there for only an hour. Meant to be. :)

I was going to write more, but decided it was comforting me and not you.

The hurt lasts a long time, the love lasts forever.

I agree. That is how we got our cat.

We found him and his siblings in a cardboard box at the end of our street.

We were able to find homes for his siblings and kept him.

He has never forgotten what we did for him seven years ago.

Junior is a joy to have around.

He waits for me at the end of the street, when I get home from work and then walks with me.Sometimes I think he was a dog in another live.~chuckle~

I did that to my boss about 10 days ago. It's a wonder I am still here.

Well, now you have the picture to prove it! :)

Our cat that we had showed up on our doorstep one morning with a badly hurt leg. Despite my hubby saying "don't feed it" my son and I couldn't help ourselves. She kept hanging around and we kept feeding her and then one day she showed up on the doorstep with three kittens. I guess we had passed some test with her.

We adopted out the kittens and she was with us for about 12 years....and the leg healed without her even having a limp. She was the sweetest, gentlest most grateful little thing we have ever had. Never gave us a moment of anger. Her name was Missy.

Don't you dare apologise! It was a wonderful story and also opened up sweet memories of precious companions that we have loved. I think I needed it!

I love stories like that.

I never regretted the day I found Junior and neither has the rest of the family.

We would do it all over again if the occasion arrived.

Maybe you remember, was it three years ago we had a wicked mild winter? I'm pretty sure it was three because my current hairdresser is going on 4 years here from California. Her first winter here, we got almost no snow at all and had mild enough temperatures that I did yardwork all through it.

We need another one just like that.
