More Teens Wearing Pajamas To School

The way people dress for church these days is appalling. Wearing shorts, tee shirts and flip flops. Whatever happened to wearing your Sunday best?

jeans fad, good. Very, very few girls are
skinny enough to wear those jeans without
their tummy hanging out. Just because you
can squeeze into them doesn't mean they
look appealing.

Glad I don't have this to deal with ... uniforms, rigid grooming requirements and behavior. They don't hesitate to give out demerits or send them to the headmaster for a talk.

My wife brought this to my attention. And if you check out the circulars, you will also notice that the clothing being peddled to young males is disheveled, sloppy, and very unprofessional.

A reaction against the professional, suit wearing older generation???

Just another result of lazy parenting - in both school and church.

The church angle really bothers me, because not only does it showcase a lack of parental discipline, but a severe lack of reverence for the Lord and His house on His day.

A by-product of seeker-sensitivity and lazy liberal theology.

Ditto. Although I did put my foot down about church. My daughter wore pants ONCE to church and that was the end of that!

My daughter who graduated this year used to do that. Drove me crazy. But she made good grades, very involved in school, teachers (for the most part) liked her a lot, and she's in college now. We do indeed need to pick our battles. Of course, there are days I would love to come to work in PJs if we could. LOL

There used to be a time when people wore nice clothes in order to gain respect and to show respect to others. This is no longer the case, since many of our youth are now being taught that respect no longer has to be earned. All one needs to do to witness this shift in behavior is go to a local Starbucks and see the kind of slime that works there.

Our district has had "pajama days" for several years in the elementary level where the kids are encouraged to wear their PJ's. We never allowed our girl to participate, we consider this foolish. Would you wear your pj's to the office as an adult? Hell no, you'd get a free trip to the mental health facility.

I tend to agree.

I'm still not used to the pairs of brand new jeans that look like they were bought at the local thrift store. Only difference, about $100 per pair.

I've already seen them in the mall last weekend. I was sitting in the food court and I had to do a double-take. Some big 6 foot tall kid had on a pair of those over-sized house shoes made to look like sneakers. It looked like the Disney characters feet at Disney World.
