This is just another sign of unchecked rebellion and people giving in.

I tend to agree.

I'm still not used to the pairs of brand new jeans that look like they were bought at the local thrift store. Only difference, about $100 per pair.

Me neither. People ought to be thankful they don't HAVE to look poverty struck or is it the "grunge look"? In my book, they're ridiculing those that don't have something better to wear and them selves - low self esteem ... one or the other.

A few years back we were supposed to be impressed with graffito and even provide a "canvas" for more vandalism ... it's the same sort of thing.
