Supernatural sightings worth $1 million (Nessie, Yeti& Elusive Viable Democrat Candidate?)
CBC News ^ | 10/17/05

Seen a sasquatch, ogled an abominable snowman or looked at the Loch Ness monster? If so, you could be in line for a $1-million reward.

Loren Coleman, a professor at the University of Southern Maine, says anyone with a photo that leads to the live capture of one of the legendary creatures will get the money.

Some believe this to be a female Sasquatch. Image from 16mm film taken in 1967, Six Rivers National Forest, California. (AP Photo/Sasquatch Research Project, Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin )

He plans to release details of the reward at an upcoming conference on cryptozoology, the study of unknown species of animals yet to be recognized by science. A yet-to-be-named company will provide the cash.

Coleman says he's looking for a photo to discourage people from running around the woods with guns.

Two reports of sasquatch sightings in Canada this past year have made headlines, but have failed to prove anything.

DNA tests on a tuft of hair found near a large footprint in the Yukon showed it was from a bison, while a videotape from a northern Manitoba community was blurry.

Oh yeah, the strip across the mouth is clearly visible, lol.

I don't know if that was a fake or not, but I don't think a few headline hunting (there's a clue why someone would admit to being the guy in the suit) cowboys would be creative enough to make the fake a female with breasts.

The footage itself is intresting...The muscles seem to flex and relax as the creature moves, much more sophisticated than any costume I have seen. It has not been debunked, well it was but later the debunkers were debunked. Although the creature barely notices patterson or if so, barely gives a damn about him this would not be surprising. Much larger creatures do not readily run from humans.

Also it is funny that Patterson while dying of cancer and in need of funds for treatment did not start making another movie. Instead he went to the Himalayas to investigate a captured Yeti...although that yeti was a hoax. He died not soon after claiming it to be real until the end.

I bet many people don`t know that bigfoot babies have been seen as well. Here are two that were cpatured on film right before the photographer was mauled to the death by the bigfoot mother....

Here is a clearer picture of the bipedal primate. Besides the breasts, one can see that the belly is devoid of hair as well. Also notice the well padded feet. Clearly a development of evolution to assist the primate when it walks over rocky terrain.

I once saw some "expert" talking about how the bigfoot in the footage had to be real because the mechanics of the movement werent human. I laughed through the whole interview because from a distance that thing looks and moves, especially from the perspective of "impossible mechanics", exactly like my step-grandfather did.

For that same reason I laughed at the video the first and second time and 3rd time I saw it. I said to myself, "What the hell, this is CLEARLY FAKE!!!" I don't really know though now. The costume is VERY lifelike, a skin tight leotard on a HUGE body builder, they pinpointed the creatures size to that of 6'3 - 6'2. Its lower body seems to be larger than its upper body (female figure),(it's thighs alone were as large as a mans waist) something uncommon among body builders, well at all the gyms I've worked out in and seen on TV. Patterson and his partner were on horseback that day and something they said spooked the horses badly when they saw it the horses would not pursue. The thing that really intrigues me is that if Patterson did fake this one...why didn't he make another video when he was dying of cancer to raise funds for his treatment, why go to China to investigate a Yeti capture? I think if it was a hoax he did not perpetrate it or his partner although if they did not then it is highly probable it is real. No one has yet produced the exact costume if it was one. Costumes are loose fitting and would not allow visible muscle movement and clear cut features and if it was fake, who would think to fake it as a female. /rant

I think Bigfoot was the 2nd gunman on the grassy knoll.

Seriously, the problem with positing the continuing existence of such creatures is that to survive as a species, they have to have a fairly large number of prospective mates, even if these are dispersed into small bands. It also means a fair amount of travel back and forth, to hunt, etc.

That, to me, makes Bigfoot's existence rather unlikely, unless he's solved the mate problem by hooking up with humans - in which case Teddy could be explained and reagan_fanatic could win the prize. ;)
