BOB PERKINS IS TOM DELAY'S "JUDGE" IN HIS "BOOKING" HEARING--BOB PERKINS COULD ALLOW TOM DELAY TO NOT BE "BOOKED" WITH A MUG SHOT. WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OF THAT HAPPENING, NOW THAT WE SEE BOB PERKINS' POLITICAL CONTRIBUTIONS ACCORDING TO OPENSECRETS.ORG?

Delay is not someone to mess with and will fight this vigorously.

One possibility <-- A Sept. 11, 2004 fundraiser for Richard Morrison, Delay's Democrat opponent in '04.
Curiouser and curiouser...

Earle knows this guy's politics, and I'll bet you Earle steered this case so that this judge would preside over it.

DeGuerin can only file for a change of venue based on certain factors, none of which involve the donations of the judge in this case.
It's looking to me like DeLay's only opportunity for justice will occur at the appellate level.

If Delay is innocent -- and I believe that he is -- then he will get his mug shot and fingerprints back just like every other defendant who is aquitted. But please, until then, treat him the same as the rest of us commoners. He won't be able to get his reputation back, and he won't be able to keep his enemies from using the images against him. I am all for equality under the law...DeLay is not being treated equally; the charges are trumped up, and this ought to be laughed out of court. The persecutor had to get three GJs in order to get an indictment--this is, in my opinion, a clear case of prosecutorial abuse. I see this as a common sense case of a sham indictment.

''leftist in the extreme'' Thats for sure! .....Isn't moveon.org the same outfit that had commercials depicting the president as Hitler during the run up to the election?! If this is true Tom Delay should demand a change of venue now! He'll never get a fair trial from these hacks!

The Rathergate story ran on 9-9-04, and MoveOn began airing Bush AWOL ads almost immediately. That was a euphoric couple of days for Democrats everywhere. Maybe Perkins was inspired to give to the cause.

What in the devil is going on down there in Texas? I thought you'all cleaned the place up.
Democrats still have their strong holds they just don't hold any statewide elective offices. This judge is a state District judge and had no opponent in the 2002 democrat primary and no republican opponent in the General....

Delay's mug shot will be leaked and used in DNC/moveon.org "culture of corruption" TV ads for the next five years. This is a moonbat coup.

Travis County (Austin) is a liberal cesspool. Always has been thanks to the University of Texas and always will be.
Let me improve this slightly...
Travis County (Austin) is a liberal cesspool. Always has been thanks to the aging hippies who have moved there from various places, and because of all the idiots in the bullshit majors (liberal arts, journalism, social work, some of the natural sciences, etc.) at the University of Texas and always will be. If you go to the enginnering or ROTC section (and to a lesser extent the business section) of campus, you will find many strong Texas conservatives.

Why doesn't Delay's attorneys demand a change in venue?Mistrial declared on appeal?

I wasn't trying to diss all Longhorns. I've known plenty that were conservative. However, the student body of U.T. is far more liberal than Texas A&M. :-) (Although for now your football team is much better. Hopefully you'll stomp Tech on Saturday.)
As for "liberal" arts being a place for mostly liberals, it is true for Journalism, English, and to a lesser extent History and Political science but not always. I had classes with plenty of people who were solid conservatives when I was working on my BA in History.
