Millions More Movement Not Addressing the Core Problem
Blog ^ | October 16t

This past weekend the Millions More Movement march took place. Well, was anyone there calling for an end to subsistence-welfare? This has done more damage to black families than any sinister plot that some evil racists might have come up with. In the black inner cities of America’s big cities, over 85% of children are born out-of-wedlock. Why? The best evidence points to the anti-poverty welfare state enabling women to support children without husbands, and this welfare state makes it easy for men to shirk their responsibilities. These perverse incentives have resulted in a cultural breakdown in poor black communities and a black underclass has emerged.

Without subsistence-welfare, people will not starve, people will not be ill-clothed, and millions will not become homeless. People survive, people find ways to get by.

As I flicked through the channels this weekend one station had angry looking black people shouting into a mic all day long.

Didn't care about them. I was too busy working trying to clear my desk of work to get ready for this week. After all, I need to make money to pay for the welfare state with my taxes.

I happened to be there. It was pathetic. I wish I had a dime for every time a speaker mentioned Hurricane Katrina. They're cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs. Was very happy to leave DC behind. It's not a very nice place.

a very good article. this vast underclass is already here

and eating us out of house and home. before anyone gets

upset at my post, i mean all races of underclass, not just

black americans. its too late for this generation, we

need to work on the kids, let the damaged ones just go

their merry way into oblivion. with lib control of

public schools, my odds are way low for correcting this

problem. now with god more and more out of the way,

this underclass in particular has such little hope, its

almost a waste of time to spend resources on them.

"America should phase out subsistence-welfare..."

This is a great idea, but the Democrats will never let it happen.

Nah. They'd rather stay on the Liberal Plantation. Being a victim feels good. No one pays any attention to responsible adults.

AMEN!! Someone needs to tell Jesse Jackson that keeping a family on welfare for four generations is no way to "Keep Hope Alive".

I've always thought that since the gains of the civil rights movement, the problem in the black community was not welfare, but rather this pathology of not wanting to succeed in school for fear of being accused of "acting white." So you end up having black children who resist education and even learning how to speak proper English.

This pathology also fosters racism, because when you actively resist assimilating into a nation's culture and society and form your own sub-culture and sub-society that is at odds with the larger culture and society, you risk being treated differently by that larger culture and society -- particularly when your skin color instantly identifies you as a member of this sub-society.

Some blacks will say, well, we have always been and will always be treated differently precisely because of our skin color. But if that skin color no longer signaled to people in the larger society that here is an alien in our midsts, that is, one who resists and rejects the larger society, you would only have the more obvious kind of racism left.
